Solid Set of Irons

First I'll tell you a bit about myself and then I'll tell you what I need help with;

 

I'm 24 years old. Self-taught. I've spend many hours at the driving range over the last couple of years for fun but I've just begun to play 18 holes. I currently have a 'Frankenset'. Pretty much a hodgepodge of Titleist irons. The irons I hit the best are my 695cb 6-iron with a stock stiff shaft, and my 690cb 8-iron with a stiff shaft.

 

I'm quite athletic and I strike the ball very well and consistently - and I'm ready to invest in a good, solid set of irons that will serve me well as I get even better. My swing speed is 100mph+. I'd like a set that won't punish me too hard while I'm getting used to difficult course conditions.

 

I'd like to spend under $1,500. I'm open to any brand/manufacturer. Thanks!

sounds like me in the description.... epon 302s by far..... had mizunos jpx pros, epon 502s and, miura 501s (plenty of others) ... i would say epon 302 is best and easiest to hit (tour issued KBS tours stiff in them) got it used for less than $1500

I would like a set of irons that I can learn how to shape the ball with, but won't break my hands when I mishit a range ball with a 110mph swing.

Save some coin and get you some Bridgestone J40 CB's. Or if you want blades, the Tourstage 905's.

OnOff Forged are gorgeous, reasonable, super soft feeling, easy to hit, but with minimal offset. Just a fantastic all around set of irons.

I'll second what Matt added above on the Onoff's. Best set of irons I've ever owned.

the 302 is sublime but by what you've describe u should really be in the 5 series either 551 or 503

I've hit the '13 onoff cb and it's great, the 302 is better imo but unless you're a really good ball striker (close to a 10 hcap) go epon 5 series
