When you think of sports video games, you immediately think of EA Sports, the producer of some of the most popular video games of all time. When you think of specific sports games, the conversation almost instantly turns to the Madden franchise. But after that, where does your brain wander off to? A large majority of sports gamers would probably say Tiger Woods PGA Tour two thousand whatever. The partnership between gaming giant EA Sports and golfing legend Tiger Woods has seen incredible success that has resulted in over $770 million worth of games being sold across 14 editions of the game. I think golf is not just Tiger, there are other big names out there as well. In another article they discussed how the 2014 version only sold like 25% of the # of units vs the 2012 model. I am not sure if the 2012 being the 1st with Augusta National having an effect on that. I know I bought a PS3 just to get that game and to this day still the only game I own. I use the PS3 as a media server/Blu Ray as well.

I would like to see Rory, Fowler, Phil, Scott have their name on something. Tiger WILL have another game out with a different company by 2015 I would guess. Its not the end of the world, business partners change all the time.

The TW franchise had become very stale. very few changes and improvements over the recent years other than the addition of Augusta.The other courses just seemed to be copied and pasted year after year. Very poor background detail given. IIRC it has been known for some time that EA and TW were going to part ways.

They're not cutting ties.. . The release just isn't timed well with the new console releases. Taking a year off to adjust. According to EA

I think if you want young kids to buy it like crazy put Rickie Fowler on the cover.

It would be nice to have Phil in the game. I think that the next generation game will have different superstars on the cover, ala Madden. I would love to see Adam Scott on the cover.

I will not be buying any video games this year. Tiger Woods PGA Tour was the only game I purchased every year.

I believe there'd still be a PGA Tour, just maybe not branded to a player/person.... just PGA?
