Was half way round today and needled a new ball so I got out a ProV1x. What a rock. It felt.like a distance ball, especially off the putter. Put the CS back in play after 2 holes and it was back to normal. I have very qu kly become accustomed to the feel of the CS, to the pont where other tour balls just don't cut it any more. The CS is the only ball I will use.

I've become a fan of the Chrome Soft as well. A bit more distance off the driver (vs. Rzn Black or ProV1) and very good performance off my wedges. Heading out tomorrow to buy a couple of dozen at <$38/doz.

I can't afford to play the Chrome soft, as I STILL lose a few a round. I went to PGA SS today to pick up some Cally Solaires, and was talking to the guy at the hitting bays about the CS, and he gave me a 2 ball sleeve compliments of Callaway. Will try it sometime when our season starts up here. Going to start with the Solaires, which have a great feel to them, as I have played them in the past, then throw in the Chrome Softs, when I get the winter kinks out.

I was at the golf shop yesterday and found my first complaint abiut the CS. It was close to $50 a dozen, which puts it above SR series, TM and Srixon. I will still play it though as I have had about a dozen rounds and only usee about 4 balls cause of the durability. Hope the price comes down but with the Aus dollar plummeting I only see them going up.

Everywhere I look, Cally Chrome Soft is $37.99 a dozen. In golf stores, and online. That's the #1 reason I won't be playing it, as much as I like to tee a Callaway ball. I'll be playing the Solaire as my primary ball of choice, then the Wilson Tour Velocity Tour Feel. Good ball for a buck a piece, those Wilsons. Feel like the TF D2s, with as many choices. I just was given a complimentary 2-ball sleeve at PGA SS, and will tee it after the season is a few weeks down the road for me here in the Chicago area. Not a big fan of sub-50 compression balls, but will give it a go-wink,wink, nod, nod, say no more.....

I found Chrome Soft's at $29.99/dozen. Fiddler's Green in Eugene, Oregon. Their online site also lists them at $37.99 but when I drove down to buy a couple of dozen at the counter they were $8 less.

Just received my shipment of them. First round with em was positive. Enjoyed the feel of them and felt like the cover was a little stronger. Distance was about the same as SR3, however i will say inside and around 100 yards felt better coming off the clubface. chipping and putting were very positive as well. overall a damn good ball made by callaway again

How's the spin 100 yards and in compared to the chrome+? What about the prov1x?
My experience is that the chrome does not spin as much off wedges. Two hops and stop control.

I bought a sleeve of these about a month ago when playing Torrey Pines, and I really liked it!

Ive played 3 different courses in 3 different climates including 30+mph wind today. Longer than the SR2/3 off the tee, checks around the green like the SR2 and in-between the SuperSoft and the SR2 for feel. Its firmer off the tee, and much easier to feel with the putter.

Right now, this is my ball for the year! $10 cheaper than the SR2/3 and it plays better!

**Forgot to add. The ball I played today has 27 holes on it. It is starting to show some wear on it and the logo from Torrey Pines is finally wearing off. I put some brand new wedges in the bag today, so probably a little more wear than usual. Again, impressed.
