G iron's with CFS 70 or TFC 419 Graphite???

Hit the G's today with the CFS 70 graphite iron shafts and loved the feel, but the TFC 419i (G30) has more weight 74 grams compared to 66 gram for the CFS. Would it be worth it to order the G's with the TFC's or just go with the CFS's? Thanks

Do you want the dampening of graphite? If so, it may be worth it to get them. Otherwise, it sounds like you like the feel of CFS.

OP, ya know fwiw I always give the Ping engineers full credit for knowing better, and more, than any of us. they R & D the new CFS graphites to work best with that new G head design. just pick a shaft flex and you'll be gtg!

I agree with Kenny, go with the CFS graphites. I've demoed them, nice shaft!

P4B, amigo the 2 shafts he's talking about are BOTH graphite. the CFS shaft is now graphite in the Ping G line-up, it's not steel, the AWT 2.0 from Nippon is the stock in steel. it's goofy confusing but that's how Ping switched all name labels around for G irons.

I didn't realize that. Been playing CFS shafts in my last several sets of Pings and thought they were still steel. Just when I thought I understood Ping... :)

Seriously?

Those CFS 70 graphite's are really light. Unless you have played shafts of that weight before I'd be very cautious. And I don't think there is any reason to think CFS 70 would work better than the older graphite shafts. Shafts are not head specific.

After playing a few rounds with the G's and the stock graphite shafts, I ended up going back to the G's with the AWT's. The graphite was just to light for me. I had trouble with the shorter irons going through the rough, and chipping was a bear.

Love the CFS graphite shafts. Light, great feel of the club head, and really smooth.
