Does putting stroke and the type of putter you use matter to a high degree?

I have an arcing stroke but really like the look of the new odyssey o works R line, 2 ball, and #9. Would it really have an effect on my putting if I were to use a face balanced putter and have an arcing stroke or would using a strong arc putter have much of an effect? Am I over thinking this one? Should I just go with the putter that suits my eye.

It seems like most of the putters odyssey offers fall into the face balanced range, but statistics say most people have a slightly arcing stroke and not an SBST putting stroke. Also it seems that a good number of players on tour use the two ball or #7 style putter.

So does toe hang and putting stroke really have a high correlation?

For example could someone with a slight or strong arc use a face balanced putter and putt successfully?

I have an arc stroke. I've tried mallets, but don't putt as well as with a heel shafted putter (#9). Ping Sigma Tess, Shea and #9 O Works are on my radar for next season. ;)
