I actually took a chance purchasing with the 3 and 5 wood OS versions of these clubs. These were incredibly easier to hit than any fairway I've tried. Until yesterday, I could never hit a 3 wood off the deck. These are definate weapons plugging in huge gaps from my Nike set. Going back to get the 7 and trading in my 3 and 4 hybrids. That will enable me to use almost my entire bag and not have to remove a wedge.

DRIVER:  Callaway Rogue ST 10.5

PUTTER:  Odyssey Toulon Las Vegas

BACKUPS:  Odyssey Toulon Garage Le Mans Tri-Hot 5K Double Wide, MannKrafted Custom, Slighter Custom

This is one of the best fairway woods i have ever hit, and the price is very reasonable. I played today and hit this club great. It sets up well and looks slightly open which i like. Off the tee i hit it about 265 with the 14.5 loft i have and was 12 yards short of the green from 288 to center off the deck right on line. Great club looks and feel. I highly recommend to anyone.

I've never been able to hit a 3w off the deck. After flirting with a Nike Sumo2 FW and trying other shallow-face FW (906F4, G10, etc) and 1h/2h hybrids (TaylorMade mostly), I turned to the A3 15* on a whim. I honestly think that the shorter, more active shaft (DVS regular) is what made the difference. Shorter probably making the most difference of all. I swing this like a hybrid (after all, it looks like one at address) and I'm 200-220 no problem.

This is the creme of the crop in the 3w/1h world as far as I'm concerned. If you're like me and can't hit a 3w and have a gigantic hole in your game between driver and 2h/3h, do yourself a favor and try this club. They can be had pretty cheaply on eBay right now. I just wish the 5w was 19*... I could take the 2h and 3h out of my bag and fill the gap with one club. 18* to 23* is just too big a jump for me and 15* to 18* isn't enough of a difference. Oh well :)

On another note, I love the shaft so much that I'm thinking about putting the 75g version in my Nike Sumo2 hybrids.

Picked up an Insight XTD A3 3 wood with the Aldila stiff shaft for $100 Canadian! What a steal. Hitting a 3 wood used to be like flipping a coin it will either be a great shot or a complete slice/shank. I hit this club well more than 85% of the time and it has easily taken strokes off of my game. A real gem at a great price.

Added a 3 wood to the bag. Very good for those who have not been able to get along with the traditional fairway woods. Plenty long and forgiving. An excellent alternative off the tee.

I am loving Adams' stuff at the moment - just purchased a matching 5 wood and the the A4 Tech irons.

I picked up a 3 and 5 wood for £105. They came fitted with Aldilla DVS 65 gram shafts in a regular flex. The 5 wood is an exellent club that is very easy to hit from both the fairway and a low tee peg. I am getting just under 200 yards carry with this club. The three wood is slightly more challenging from the fairway but is very easy to hit of the tee. The 5 wood is an excellent replacement for the pro gold 16 degree hybrid that was just too demanding for me.

A short update following two competative rounds under real conditions. Inital impressions still hold good. The 3 wood is not as long as my Macgregor Mactec but I feel it is more forgiving. Truly poor swings will be punished as expected but slight mis hits don't go as far offline. Distance is reduced on mishits. Neither club has cured my bad shot which is a block to the right. However I don't think any club will correct an excessively in to out swing.

Very confidence-inspiring due to the square shape. I've never felt very comfortable hitting fairway woods off the deck, but I'm playing the 3 and 5 wood easily off the fairway and the 5 wood fairly confidently from the rough at times.

I have no trouble getting either up in the air, but I've cut the 5 wood shaft down a little and that's helped produce a lower, more penetrating ballflight for me.

Still toying with shaft options. Anyone found a killer combo?

I picked up a LH demo Insight XTD A3 3 wood with the Aldila stiff shaft for $40 plus $5 shipping on the bay. I thought I got one hell of a deal.

Range time went pretty good and I gamed it for the first time yesterday. I used to game a cleveland launcher titanium 3 wood and I never used it because I hook it every time I hit it and usually hooked it bad no matter if it was off the deck or the tee.

Well yesterday I hit it off the tee 4 times and hit 3 out of 4 fairway and the one I missed barely missed and that was my fault for lining up to far to the left.

This club just wants to go straight. I usually out drive my father and uncles by about 30 or so yards when we all hit driver(I am usually between 280 and 300 wit ha driver) and I hit this three wood the same distance they hit their drivers each and every time so probably averaged about 260 or so off the tee which is perfect.

I love this club so far and we will see if that continues.
