Nickent Tour Prototype milled putter

There were some photos from the 08 PGA show in orlando on here, and a great review about it being the best new putter at the show. The local Nickent rep here just told me on Thuesday that there is no expected release date. Originally, the USGA rejected the face...then Hoeflich personally rejected the newer putters when the first batch came in...so no date still. The local rep is not even sure how aggressively they are trying to get it out.

While completely ugly...the PipeII has a great new face and the ball rolls very nicely. If not for the amazing new Bobby Grace DCT, I would have a PipeII in my bag right now.

Thanks for the info. I really wanna game one of those Prototypes. I have tried out the PIPE and not a big fan actually. I just cant get used to anything mallet like. Those Bobby Grace's are pretty sweet tho...I think its the Sarasota model that I put into play little while back and had good results.

There was one of the prototypes on eBay a couple of weeks ago that went for $51.00.

It was probably illegal since they have not release any that have been approved by the USGA to this date.

yea I asked the person who was selling it how he came about the putter...he didn't really say specifically how or where he got it other than from someone else.

The local Nickent rep told me that it was becasue of the grooves on the insert. I definately do not know enough about what would make grooves accepted or rejected. Nickent made changes, then when the first shippment came in he said that Hoeflich himself rejected them becuase he did not like what came in...very minor things...but it has not moved much since.

Has anyone purchased one of these putters yet?

Here is the pick of the MP/05 Model I got this week. One word describes this putter, Money!!

Rolls the ball great and very smooth/soft feel.

The headweight came in at 345-350 grams.

They can be had...not sure of the release date. Might be worth a call to the customer service department there seeking the release date.

They look nice but that insert is a deal killer for me. Why not just go with a pure milled face?

That's a deal on the 'Bay...the insert is very soft and has a muted sound compared to a Circa #1 that is very similar in look and weight.
