Adidas tour 360 4.0 vs. 3.0

Any better?
I was just about to order another pair of 3.0, but noticed the 4.0 isn't much more. Anyone using these? Are they any better then the 3.0? I saw one thread saying the sizing is different( couldn't find it again). I normally wear a normal ten shoe. The 3.0 I had to get a 9.5 wide. Is the sizing the same?

Other than the fact that you can get the 3.0 for $79 (give or take), the 4.0
are definitely cut wider and more true to traditional sizing.

I'm a 9 wide and the 3.0 were miserably uncomfortable until I broke them in,
2 months later.

The 4.0 (9 wide) are butter right out of the gate.

I tried a pair of the 3.0 and 4.0's on and found the 4's a comfortable fit from box to foot. The 3's felt to stiff in the leather. Also the THinTech design on the 4.0 was very noticeable. I'm 6'6" and the less sole or heel is a benefit for me. I did find the 4.0's appeared to give a pigeon toe look. I like the looks of the 3.0 and $99 price tag but I need a shoe that I'm totally feeling right in. I will probably end up with the 4.0's. Can find them on eBay for under $120

I've tried the 3.0 in the store and they felt good, quite stable. Can really feel like you'll stick to the ground. The only thing is, the sole does seem to be quite thick. I currently own the 4.0s and they are great. Still very stable yet you dont feel like you are wearing lifts. The width definitely feels more comfy and I didnt need any break in time. Out of the box they were great. I wear 8.5M as an FYI. I own the 360 I's and II's and the 4.0 are better than those in terms of stability. The comfiness is slightly better than both of those I believe. Dont think you'll go wrong with the 3.0 or 4.0s but personally I like the 4.0s. Only gripe is that the toes of the 4.0s do look a little pointy but it's not bad when u take everything else into account.

Tried the 4.0's on and they were very comfortable, but couldn't get over the stitching on the toe section. Definitely gave it that "pidgeon toe" effect someone mentioned earlier. In the end, I figured the last thing I wanted to see or think about while looking down at a birdie putt was the fact I don't like the stitching on my shoes.

tried the 4.0 & 3.0's on again today. the 4.0 seems wider and yes they do have a "pointy toe" like mentioned in a earlier post. the 3.0 was much tighter and narrower, I tried the same size on in both. in the 3.0 I would probably go up a 1/2 size. I couldn't really notice a huge difference in the heel. I set them side by side and maybe a 1/2" difference. is that enough to make a difference in a swing...I doubt it. I'm having trouble getting past that stitching on the 4.0, even the laces go left to right. I like the looks of the 3.0 better ...... anyone else having this tough decision?

Having had all 3 of previous 360 Tour models, I think the 4.0 sole design would last longer than any of the previous one since it is now 1 piece.

Got my 3.0's as a warranty replacement for my old Tour 360 2.0's. They are firmer than the 4.0's I tried on. I did not have some of the blistering issues that others have, but I have an extremely narrow foot. The heel pad is a little firm, but I think that will break in over time. The 4.0's felt more like a slipper as they were pretty close to the ground with the new cleat technology. When I first saw the 4.0's there was a $75 price difference over the 3.0's, so I went with the 3.0's. If you can get the 4.0's at a low price. Go with them!

it is my understanding that the 3.0 and the 4.0 both have the ThinTech cleat technology.

Nah, 3.0 uses normal fast twist cleats.

I tried a 4.0 and the 3.0 in the same size and I agree, the 3.0 definitely fits smaller than the 4.0, also the 3.0's a little narrower IMO

The 3.0s shredded my heals in 9 holes, they suck. I would rather have the old FJs I prematurely discarded. No more experimenting for me with shoes. =) maverick

Everyone's foot is different, they suck to you. Maybe you didn't get the right size..... who knows.

I have some FJs coming and Adidas is replacing my 'defective' pair. If you do a google search on Adidas golf shoe reviews the heal problem is apparent as it shows up everywhere so I doubt it is just me.

My foot size remains constant so I think it is the shoes. I have never had a pair of FJs that did not fit comfortably out of the box. =) maverick

Add if you google the same thing for FJ, you see the same issues. Adidas shoes run smaller than FJ's, they won't always be the right fit.

I own the originals, 2.0, 3.0, and 4.0; each pair has gotten better than its predecessor.

This seems to be one of those problems were it either bothers you or not. My left shoe was perfect but the right almost disabled me. I tried tightening them up but I think the back it a bit too high.

I do know that they are trying to improve this as demonstrated by your comment. I also notice each version gets less and less complaints. I have the latest ones coming so we will see. In the meantime I have some FJ Icon Asymmetrical shoes being delivered tomorrow.

I usually walk so this is very important to me. =) maverick
BTW, these are a wide and feel like a med.which is what I wear.
