Adams Golf Adds Ryan Moore to its PGA Tour Staff


PLANO, TEXAS, November 18, 2010 – Adams Golf is proud to announce the addition of PGA Tour champion and U.S. Amateur Champion Ryan Moore to its PGA Tour staff. Moore will play Adams Golf equipment, wear an Adams Golf hat and carry an Adams Golf staff bag.

“We are excited to expand our relationship with Ryan, especially since he has carried some of our clubs in his bag for several seasons now,” said Chip Brewer, Adams Golf president and CEO. “He is an exceptional talent and brings an already impressive record of achievement to our staff. He will be a great ambassador for our brand for years to come.”

Moore is coming off another very solid season in which he finished 32nd on the 2010 PGA Tour Money List with earnings of more than $2.3 million, due in part to six Top 10 and 10 Top 25 finishes in 24 events played. He ranked tied for eighth in Total Driving statistics, which is a combination of driving distance and driving accuracy. Moore’s career achievements include winning the 2009 Wyndham Championship and several impressive victories as an amateur, including the U.S. Amateur Public Links (2002, 2004), the U.S. Amateur Championship (2004), the Western Amateur (2004) and the NCAA Division 1 Championship (2004).

“I’ve been playing an Adams Golf driver and hybrid for the past several seasons and they have remained in my bag because they clearly perform,” said Moore. “The quality and level of technology Adams Golf puts into each and every club was evident from the first time I tried them. I’m excited about joining a company that is committed to developing world-class golf clubs and where I can make an impact.”

Moore is the latest champion to represent the Adams Golf brand, joining the likes of Tom Watson, Bernhard Langer, Aaron Baddeley, Chad Campbell and Yani Tseng. He was born and raised in Washington State and now splits his time between there and the Dallas area, where he recently purchased a home. Moore turned pro in 2005 after graduating from the University of Nevada–Las Vegas and has played on the PGA Tour ever since.

Cool but a little sad. This guy was Scratch for me.

Adams hasn't really caught my attention any time but so did Scratch.

this is very confusing... what happened with scratch.. didn't be by stake in the company.. and he was playing ping irons a few weeks back.. ????

So I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the people stating that the other articlce from the other site aren't willing to retract their statement that he was wrong and that he hated Scratch? Funny, he was 100% correct.

How so? They have the absolute worst customer service in the business. Every single custom build our account placed was either wrong or took 6 months to receive. Not only that but they had crazy problems just getting stock clubs built and sent on time. You think Scratch had problems, Adams was worse.

Hey, when you need extra cash, what better way to do it than actually go for a major OEM. As for Adams customer service, it's a bit spotty, but the products are pretty outstanding. The rep also has a big factor in the customer service you get. Our experience in our store has been pretty good, not to say we haven't had some problems.

What's the over/under on how long this will last? 10 months?

I wonder if they will grind off the numbers on the irons and stamp in degrees? Ryan is a bit of a nutbar and has horrible fashion tastes but I like to watch him golf. I guess it's because he is just a little out there and he can really go low too.

Adams just seems to be the Hyundai of golf. Good stuff but you'd rather have a Honda.

IF it was about money I can 100% guarantee you he would have gone the TaylorMade/Callaway route. Adams doesn't pay NEARLY as well as though two companies.

Actually I agree with you, product is good. Our rep was great, moved some product for us and actually pretty much always came through finding stock clubs so we didn't have to order them. I'm more or less talking about anything custom...or out of the ordinary...such as a low lofted 3 wood with regular flex or similar.

LOL actually Ryan's only win on the PGA Tour came with a Scotty Cameron Circle T. This year he also put a TM driver, 3 wood, hybrid and the Penta into play after finishing top 10 the week before with Adams and TEE woods and a Callaway ball.

I've heard the bonus structure for performance is large with Adams.

Ryan Moore is becoming a bit of an a**-clown - I want to like the guy, but between his yearly equipment drama and those god-awful outfits, I'm starting to think he's a bit of a prima donna - or suffering from an attention deficit complex - Look at me, look at me! Daddy, I need some attention!

Welcomes another champion to the company. HUH? how does Ryan Moore qualify as a champion? Or for that matter Chad Campbell and Aaron Baddley? It certainly applies to Watson, Langer, and even Tseng but the others have what 10 victories added together and 7 of those are Campbells.

I love the smell of capitalism in the morning........

Pretty cool. I know he was playing an Adams driver and I believe hybrids as well. Any word on iif he will be needing to play more Adams clubs?

I have no problem with Ryan Moore. He tried it out with Scratch. It is what it is. Isn't the first guy to make a switch. And I like Adams. Can't wait to see the WITB....

Adams does have "Cadet" hats available in Espresso and Lime Green

Horrible fashion sense? I love the guy for willing to do something differently, it's about time. He marches to his own beat, and I don't think he cares what people say, and I have to respect him for that. I really liked the fact that he chose to be sponsorless, and then I liked when he did choose a sponsorship, it was with a company he became part owner of. As far as joining a bigger company like Adams, it was certainly more conventional, but I was stoked to see him join a company like Adams, a company putting out awesome product and a company really helping push the equipment of today. And above all else, I love the golf swing. Other than Furyk, it's one of my favourite swings on tour.
