Just went in for a TaylorMade fitting, and got fitted for a 11.5 Super Tri. The head feels solid!

Just put mine into play this last weekend. TP 9.5 with Aldila RIP 70 stiff, set to NU. Avg distance is a few yards longer than my old(er) ft-9 and miss variance seems better, discounting the horrible swings. More forgiving club, that's for sure.

This is a great club. I bought the supertri tpwith the xcon 5 shaft and I love it.. I hit it straight and long.. I hit the r11 and reallly saw no difference performance wise.. And you just cant beat the adjustability of weight and face and lie angles.. So easy to swap shafts too.. Its the best driver out there in my oppinion..

Like most drivers it is all about the shaft. I could never find the right one and the head just imparted too much spin on the ball.

Solid head for sure.

Love this club! Have three different shafts that i got relatively cheaply off ebay (Fuji e-370, Graffaloy Epic 68, and a Voodoo) to play around with and find the best option. This was not available to me with my old taylormade drivers, so i think thats an excellent selling point. Also i love the black on black look, forget this white BS!

What are the specs for the Motore 60 and 65 stiff(TP version)? Is this shaft stock or the real deal put out by fujikura?

I used a weight kit to configure the weights as follows: 12g (heel) 4 (back) and 6g (toe). The head feels heavy, but I hit it really solid and far with a slight bit of ballooning. I wanted to lower the flight, so I got a Graffalloy Pro Launch Red to replace the motore that it came with. I have not had the chance to hit it yet, but I was wondering how much more weight the new shaft can handle. When I put more weight in the Motore, it felt too whippy.
I think the extra weight actually increased my swing speed. I wonder when I might see a diminishing return as I add weight.

I still play this driver. I need a knew shaft. Any recommendations?

Thanks

I've just put a Graman BF series in it - the thing just goes! I think the shaft is specific to asia, but try a few out - shoudl be easy to get a few shafts with the adaptor in to try out. Just get somethihg low spin and low launch and it's a bomber. I could play any driver I want, but have stuck with the R9 ST.

I just purchased a used 10.5 Supertri with a Rombax 6X07 (stiff) shaft for $40. Was a bit concerned that my 90mph SS isn't fast enough for a stiff flex but it turns out the higher spinning Supertri head and mid/high launch Rombax are perfect for me. I have no problems turning the ball over with a slight draw using the standard weight/loft settings.

I measure my drives with my GPS and I've gained 10 yards with the Supertri compared to my 12 degree Ping G15 with stock shaft (reg). The occassional hooks I had with my G15 are gone and the Supertri is more accurate.

Had to by a wrench for it ($5.99 from ebay) and a new headcover ($15) for a total investment of $60.

I really liked this driver, pretty forgiving and long. Had in a 10.5 and Project X 5.5 shaft. So configurable, it's a tinkers dream. Not sure if that is a good or bad thing :)

Have an R9 460 that has served me well, but I've always liked the all-black, stealthy look of the Supertri. Finally managed to grab one on eBay and, so far, am VERY happy with the club. I'm a low-ball hitter with "pedestrian" (85-90mph) swingspeed and the higher launch/spin of the ST is a good pairing. Definitely a keeper!

My Super-Tri fractured on the crown yesterday (7/21/13). My club pro is sending it back to Taylor Made. He said, "Keep your fingers crossed. I hope they'll replace it for you." I purchased the club in the fall of 2011 and love it. I have the Motore F1 shaft (upgrade) stiff. My driver swing speed is 102 mph. I play to a 4 handicap but feel this head is suitable for any talent level looking to hit more fairways. With the right shaft, it's a winner.

I picked one of these up at a golf shop in a small town up in Wisconsin back in 2014. It was new and came with the TP Motore shaft in it. I loved everything about this club and was super solid for 265 carry 275-285 total and accuracy was really great. My only hang up was that it was hard to feel contact on the face. Something about it just kept me clueless as to where the ball was going to go. Granted, with it's accuracy, it wasn't like I was trying to search all over the county for my drives but it would feel the same on a toe shot as it would on a heel or low center strike.

Like an idiot, I traded it in. But man that was one of the most consistent drivers I've gamed in a while.
