Oban White in a fairway wood?

Just curious if anyone was playing the oban white 75 in a fairway wood? I have the new 915fd with the Rogue 95 black installed and I like it, but if I get a little quick at the top (which is a problem for me) it's going left...way left... I currently play the oban white 65 in my 915d3 and I love it (seems to hold up really well to the quick at the top flaw). Have a chance to get the white 75 for cheep and thought it might make a good replacement for the rouge.

Thoughts?

I have hit the Kiyoshi white, purple, black(all 75, which ranges from 79 to 82 grams actual weight) and AD DI 8 against the Rogue black 85 in the 915F. I ended up staying with the AD DI for now, really could have gone with the Purple or White as well. The Kiyoshi black was a little too low launch for me(excellent shaft, but I was unable to get quite enough launch out of it. Probably didn't help that I tend to produce a fairly low ballflight as well.)

I liked the feel of all of these over Rogue. I think it might have had something to do with the counter-balance in the Rogue. It just felt like there was more weight towards the tip of the other shafts compared to being higher in Rogue. It seemed like I could feel where the clubhead was in the swing better with the non-Rogue shafts.

For a comparison on just the Rogue and the Kiyoshi White, the White did feel more stable in the tip. That should tighten up dispersion and cause less left misses, but it depends on your swing also. The Rogue does feel noticeably heavier higher up the shaft, even though there is only about a 4 gram difference. The White did tighten up the dispersion quite a bit compared to the Rogue for me, but that could have a little to do with me being able to feel where the clubhead was in the swing better with the White also. With the White, I was getting a tad lower launch on the launch monitor, but this was negligible as it was coming up less than a degree lower.

The Rogue is a great shaft and I was getting great numbers with it when I put a good swing on it, but I was just able to put a good swing on it more consistently with the other shafts.

If you really like the Kiyoshi White in your driver, then I think that the 75 would be the perfect compliment in the fairway.

Thanks for the input! I tend to hit the ball on the high side.(especially off the tee) that is why I was thinking the white might work. My go to 3 wood shaft is usually the old school original Diamana blue 83X but those are getting scarce. I see you play the Veyoix Rome. That is a shaft on my short list to try. How does it compare to the oban white?

I've just got the Veylix and have not had the opportunity to hit it outside yet. I've only been able to hit it on the launch monitor a little. But, from hitting it a couple of times, I can tell you that it doesnt feel like any other shaft I have ever tried. Kind of hard to explain. Felt like i was able to tell exactly where it was during the full swing. Veylix touts the Rome as a "fade" biased shaft, but I didn't really find that to be the case. The ball tended to do whatever swing I put on it, fade or draw. Hope that helps. I'll have to get it outside for some rounds before I can form a full opinion on it, but seems quite promising so far from hitting it on the monitor.
