Played the Ocean Course at Kiawah

Awesome pics! I was lucky enough as well to play there a few years back. One of the best golfing days of my life. One thing I really remember is how when you turned the corner to head back to the clubhouse, (I think it was 14) how strong the wind was into your face. We were playing the blue tees, but when we got to 17, we had to tee off from the back just to experience it. 240, into the wind, all carry! It doesn't get any better than that. Needless to say I hit in it the water, but it was fun anyways. Glad to hear you had a great time!

That is indeed 14 where you make the turn back. :)

We were playing the tips (well, as far back as they put markers) and 17 was only 215 for us, but they could have made it play 250 easily it looked like. That would be sickening.

Those clocks are definitely cool. Seems like all tour stops have them, or at least for sure all stops that have held a major championship. :) I can't believe it's been 5 days since I was there, seems like it was just yesterday.

One thing I remember about Kiawah was 16, the par 5, hitting a 6 iron from 115 because of the wind. Crazy stuff, but enjoyable as well. Also, if anyone ever plays there and is able to walk, take a caddie. The experience is incredible. We had a mini tour player who was able to bring a lot of knowledge to the table. One of the other guys in the group decided to take a cart, which actually meant for just as much walking. Carts are not allowed in many fairways, and the fairways are elevated above everything, so it was a constant walk up to get to the fairways.

Yeah, taking a cart there would suck actually b/c when you're riding, you don't really get to take much time to appreciate the atmosphere of a course. And the Ocean Course needs to be soaked in. :) If you are able to walk, it's worth the extra $$ to get a caddy. The course is extremely easy to walk, needless to say.
