Clay Ballard would give Shiels and Crossfield the SAUCE!

Ballard is purely a teacher, while Shiels is primarily a club tester and Crossfield is more of an entertainer at this point (enjoy them all). Ballard is really good but he seems to focus too much on lag. Again I think he's really good and enjoy watching his videos all the time. I think Ballard, Chris Ryan, Eric Cogorno and maybe **Russell Heritage** are all pretty good. Even Shiels, Crossfield and Finch are good as well.

If I'm looking for something to work on, I watch Russell Heritage. I don't hear his name mentioned much here, but I like his straightforward manner & detailed information on how the body should move. I enjoy Crossfield's vlogs as well, never got into Shiels.

Guy, if that little thing sets you off, then you’re an angry little boy.

Shiels and Finch aren’t low IQ. They are both Pros if I’m not mistaken and definitely not as schooled as Crossfield. He has been at it a long time.

In reference to OP, I’m not saying Clay is bad or garbage but he keeps talking about “the move”...which I still have no clue what he is referencing and won’t give him a dime of my money until he tells me what it is and how to implement it. I do agree with his drills and recommendations on how to invoke changes to your swing with 50+ reps.

Crossfield is one of my favorite instructors on the tube. Danny Maude is teriffic too. I had a phase with mike malaska but, nahhh. Too radical of changes. Monte Scheinblum is my hero. Because of his YouTube and Instagram, I put money down when he had his sale on his site and it’s helped me exponentially.

But you saying Clay Ballard would give someone the sauce is probably the most hilarious thing I’ve heard. He’s good but that’s a lot trust put on someone you’ve probably never met and won’t play with.

"Block practice" of the same movement/skill/shot over and over again is not as effective as mixing it up with "serial" and "random" practice (those terms are described in the podcast.)

I saw students who grooved their forehands (or backhands, take your pick) against a ball machine that was set to feed balls to the same spot, with the same spin and pace. Of course, the machines could be programmed to provide much more variation, but students, left to their own devices, would often choose not to use those modes. Ultimately, this was relatively ineffective practice as it wasn't realistic. Plus it was mindless and boring.

Which is what I said, taught and Ballard is promoting.
