I wouldn't use Super Speed for a kid that young. Was talking with Chris Finn at Par for Success and he suggests that for kids that haven't hit puberty it is really hit and miss. There is a definite science behind the Super Speed system and how they weight their clubs. The system in itself is putting a neurological load on the brain and body. Some kids aren't developed enough to do anything and will not work until or after puberty. Super speeds did not work for my son. We saw a couple of miles an hour and that is it. For most kids proper strength training is better than the Super Speeds. A 6 year old using the system is a little crazy.

I am GenX.  If you really think I care about what you have to say, I don't.

Thought the same thing. They are 6, let them have fun and start developing some muscle memory. Super Speed and other physical training beyond some light stretching and flexibility seems a bit over the top for a child at 6 and if anything could negatively impact their overall development or cause injury as anything with extra weight has to be done properly and most 6 years old don't have the physical development to do that.

First get him a swing coach and start some road work in the morning so that he builds up a good solid core. Then a half hour of plyometrics. Around noon I would see if you can find a hot yoga class to work on his flexibility and to further strengthen his core., but that's after his second bucket of balls. Have him read some of the better psychological books so that he develops the right mindset for going low and staying there. If he whines give him a half hour break for cartoons and a juice box. But no more than a half hour. And by all means get him an agent that will start finding him the right Div 1 school. Because before you know it he will be 7 and it's too late.

Needs a public Instagram as well. Make sure to use way too many hashtags to draw attention to your page from stalker parents while also tagging folks on the Golf Channel, UAGolf, Nike Golf, Callaway, Taylormade and your local sports journalists. If you've been to any PGA events recently make sure to post pictures of child with the pros as well so that it looks like Jordan Spieth and your six year old are best friends. After you get your 15,000 followers make sure to thank all of the bots for following you. And for heaven's sake STAY ON BRAND!

There's definitely something more important that I should be doing.

Thanks guys for the comments. I don’t play golf and only started to pay attention to it last year when my son expressed interest. I wasn’t thinking so much about the speed part when I built these. I was hoping the superspeed peewee protocols will help him balance the opposite side. I’d never want to hurt him and that’s one reason why I built them to his specific driver weight. The kid likes playing golf a lot and watching him hit a large bucket everyday made me wonder if he’ll become lopsided. Then the other day I took him to an indoor place to play around (first time on simulators) and I saw his driver swing speeds at 50-55 mph. He’s only 47in tall and weighs 47 lbs. I’m very curious if that’s too much for his body to handle. You guys got any good exercises for balancing the left and the right side? Or should I not even worry? Thanks

Hi, they’re fairly easy to make.

Parts are: Junior shafts, junior grips, double sided tape for attaching the grips, 3/8” washers, 3/8” shaft collars, 7/8” rubber caps (for chair legs), and colored electrical tape. You can find everything on amazon and/or eBay cheaply.

First, cut shafts to desired lengths. Then put the grips on (bunch of tutorials on that on YouTube). Then sandwich the washers between 2 shaft collars at the tip of the shaft. Put a rubber cap on and wrap it with colored electrical tape. It’s really simple.

I wouldn't worry. I would focus on just making him an all around athlete.

Ok thanks that’s good to know. We keep him playing 2-3 sports all year round.

Agreed. Gots to be concerned with ligaments, development, etc... at 6. Maybe just get him an opposite hand club tp mess around with.

The public instagrams/social media for children just make my head hurt so much...
