Get the v4 on sale or pre-order the v5?

Im not sure if the V5 is better but the V4 shift is horrible. I have had two and each have the same problem with distances varying by 2-3 yards and slope being off by up to 7-8 yards per reading.

Is it worth getting the slope feature then?

I have a V4 slope and my wife has the V4 without slope. When we compare accuracy they read the same number 99% of the time. After having my slope edition for a couple years I find I don't really use it very often - maybe only on a new course with lots of elevation changes. I only see two key differences between the V4 and V5 - 5x vs 6x magnification and no magnet vs magnet. Bushnell says they tweaked the optics and the slope math function, but I don't see any weakness in the V4 functions. I have not seen a V5 yet but on their web site it appears slightly larger than the V4. The V4 fits easily in my pocket so a magnet would have little value to me (plus less likelihood of loss). If it were me I'd save the extra cost and get the V4 unless the price difference isn't that great and you like having the latest technology.
