Got one with a Grafalloy Blue S @ 9.5* - close enough. Like the club, nice boring flight - feels a bit brittle of the face, which I put down to the 'board like' nature of the Blue and the bore through head. I must admit I prefer the Ping G5 @ 10.5* with the same shaft. The Ping's higher loft, stiff flex combo just flies off the face like a rocket, straight and with good carry - pips the 905S I'm afraid and it pains me to put Ping ahead of Titleist but some of their stuff is good.

A late Ping convertee.

I've got a 905T 9.5* Graffaloy Blue Stiff. It is kinda boardy, like some of you said.

If you load the club hard, it doesn't feel too boardy. For comparison, the NV is too whippy for my taste.

I agree with iqonoqlast about loading the Blue, boardy with a sub-par swing or too stiff flex but really nice and tight (and smooth!) with the right swing/SS. IMO that particular performance trait makes the Blue an excellent shaft. The only other sub $100 shaft I've hit that compares is the Accuflex Evolution. I've played R and S flex Blue shafts in several heads and I believe that unless you're a hitter (good lag/late release) you might be better off with a softer flex than most other shafts, my driver swing is smooth in the 100-105 MPH range and I do not load the S flex Blue consistantly (recommended SS 100-110), while the R flex (90-100 SS) Blue performs on even my best swings, a few of which are likely faster than 105 MPH. For comparison, I've played the NV65 Stiff and I believe the R flex Blue plays to a similar flex.

I have a 905S with the 8.5*/Grafalloy Blue shaft. I love the head, but am not so shure about the shaft. I have a stiff flex and feel that the shaft is unresponsive. Previously, I had a Pro Lite with an X flex and I absolutely loved that shaft. I live in Knoxville, and know one of the guys who works on the UT Vols golf team's clubs. He said that he put the Blue shaft in a number of players clubs last year, and took it out of a most of them in a couple of weeks. I only know a few players who have liked the Grafallow Blue. I know a number strong players who could not stand it.

I will say this about the shaft, though. I do not tend to miss fairways with it. I have been driving the ball in the 285 to 300 yard range with great accuracy. Still, I feel that the shaft lacks feel. I am in a real dilema because the results are good, but I don't feel comfortable with the shaft.

Hey can you load a video of your swing? I wanted to know what your swing looks like so I can compare it to mine and see if I should keep or get rid of the current graffaloy shaft.

Do you swing fast? hard? how's the cocking of your wrist?

Have not tried the combo, but can tell you from experience that the graffaloy shafts play pretty stout in general and particularly stout in the bore through titleist drivers. I typically play stiff and x-stiff flexes, with a swing speed of approximately 103-107. Current set up is a Nike SQ w/ Diamana Redbard (X). However, in titleist heads, I have had some crazy combos. Never played anything stiffer than a stiff shaft in the titleist, and on one occasion played a Graffaloy Pro Lite regular flex in a 975L-FE. In fact, this might be my favority driver of all time. I guess the point of my post is that in dealing with graffaloy shafts, and titleist drivers, don't be afraid to tinker.

Well, I just tried the 905T 9.5* with the aldila NV 65s shaft and I totally lost distance. The tip doesn't provide enough stability (for my swing) to maximize the use of the head. I'm going to try the YS -6 and Graffaloy Blue, even the stock fujikawa.
