Looking for a ball with great spin around the greens without sacrificing distance

So I have finally figured out my driver, and I am no longer slicing it off the tee. Thanks to posts on here, I made adjustments to both my grip and stance. Now I am hitting the ball straight. If I do mishit the ball at, it is at a maximum 5 yard slice or hook. So, with this new found correction, I want a new ball. I was playing low spin balls to help my slice, i.e. e6, Callaway HX Diablo Tour, Srixon Q-Star and Nike One Vapor Speed. All of these balls were great when I still figuring out my swing with the e6 being the straightest and the HX Diablo Tour being pretty straight and long at the same time. However, with my last three rounds I have noticed that they just don't offer me really anything around the greens. None these seem to really check up on the greens and nor are they really supposed to. So now I want a ball that will give me distance and spin around the greens at the same time; and maybe something that will cut through the wind too because I live in the Windy City. Two rounds ago, while playing, I found a sleeve of Bridgestone B330-S that someone dropped. The balls were great around the greens, but didn't seem to offer me anything off my driver. They didn't seem to have any roll to them. Thoughts, opinions...

Try the B-330 it will have less spin than the B-330 S around the greens but will be longer off of the tee. The Callaway Hex Black is good in the wind, long off the tee, and has plenty of spin around the greens. It really boils down to what ball is best for your game but I'd start with these 2.

Hex black is a great ball for sure, I second the above post. The Hex Chrome seems to be a cheaper substitution as well. I've played both with great success. I'm currently playing the Black.

What's your swing speed? I'd caution you on trying the harder premium balls (B330, Z star XV, pro v1x, etc) for the following reason. I was watching for a while the guy from bridgestone doing one of their ball fittings. Something that consistently showed up was that people with slower swing speeds were getting MORE spin with the harder premium balls because they could not compress them properly to get the low spin that those balls are known for.

Penta TP5 is the king of your request.

My swing speed is 100-102mph off the tee and Trackman verified my results. TP5 is lower spin off the driver than Hex Black and V1x for me; along with high green side spin.

Wilson Staff FG Tour, or try the HX Chrome, both around $35 but the FG's can be found on sale for much less sometimes. Some one else mentioned the TP5.

The you probably want to stay away from the firmest ones (XV, V1X, etc). My SS is 110mph and I found that the B330 spun more off of the driver than the B330S did at the bridgestone demo day. But, the best thing to do is test them out on a launch monitor if you have access to one, or just buy a sleeve of some different ones and compare them on the course.

Callaway HEX Chrome and Penta TP5 if you are looking for lower driver spin and more spin around the green would be a good place to start. The TP3 while cheaper will spin more off the driver than the other 2 from my understanding. Golf balls are all about give and take. You may give up a few yards in roll off the driver but get that spin back around the green. I'd try to find a place that sells sleeves and purchase a sleeve of some of the balls that you like or that your playing partners have good reviews for. This board is great but you are going to find that if you ask "what ball should I use" and you get enough replys that everyball will be named. It is all about finding what works for you and YOUR game. I hate the Pro V1 because, for me, it is inconsistent and I find that I get no grip around the greens. I play the Srixon Z-Star and get everything that I want out of the ball. I hit others longer and get better full wedge spin of others but when you compare everything that the ball does this one, for me, does everything the best.

I would highly recommend that you get fitted for a ball from bridgestone. If you can't then it all comes down to feel and looks. I love the new Nike 2.0 but, don't want to afford it. So I just play bridgestone. Don't like the Srixon's they feel flat and heavy for some reason. All the golf balls today are so good it really does not matter once you have found something that feels and looks good to you.
