Good Ball?
Looking for a less expensive ball for early spring and late fall golf in Ohio...The Srixon Trispeed caught my eye. I'm familiar with Titleist and Nike balls as far as what the lower end balls vs. the higher end balls offer... Are the Trispeed's good balls? What do they compare to as far as Titleist and/or Nike balls?

Thanks,
O.

The Tri Speed is a pretty good ball, although I prefer the E5+...

Have used the Trispeed but am now using the E6+ and won't be changing anytime soon.

Plenty of distance, not too much spin to help keep the ball straight off the driver, but enough spin to hold greens with the shorter clubs - just don't expect any suck-back with this ball (I like that I can aim for the pin on half and three quarter wedge shots and know that it will hop once and stop).

Good price and durable without feeling hard. Try them for yourself and if you feel you need more spin, try the E5+

The Trispeeds felt funny to me, maybe it has to do with my swing speed. It felt almost like hitting a marshmallow with a thin crust on it. The Wilson Zips were the same way. I like the Wilson Staff 50s and love the Tx4, though I haven’t tried the Tx4 Pro yet. As many have said the Bridgestone e5 and e6 are also very good balls.

I am in the exact same boat as Anth, i was playing the trispeed most of last year and then at a demo day took the bridgestone challenge wasn't really expecting much as i really liked the trispeed, then i played those few rounds with the two free e6+ balls it was an immediate switch. Easily holding greens with all my short irons, i cant spin the ball back but i never have and prefer just being able to take dead aim at the pin, and at least for me a definite increase in driver accuracy over the trispeed.

I am going to be trying the Tri-Speed soon because lots of people around here really like it. So far I have tried the Top-Flite Gamer, Bridgestone e5+, and Taylor Made Burner TP. I disqualified the HX Hot Bite because it is 30 bucks. In my weird mind, if I am going to pay 30+tax i might as well spend the extra buck per ball and get a ProV1. I want a ball priced <$25.

The Gamer is not as durable as the other two. It feels good. I think they all fly about the same. Feels really good off the putter. It has the least amount of greenside spin for me. The durability is the #1 reason this ball does not appeal to me. The price point (20$) is awesome.

The e5+ is a really good ball. I like the feel off the putter and irons. It gets good spin off of mid-irons. It releases a little bit greenside but is not bad.

The Burner TP is the winner for me so far. I get good distance. I think it feels amazing off of all my clubs. The kicker is that for the shots I play around the green i get pretty good bite. I played a little delicate flop with it the other day to a hard pin position. It was cold and the greens are pretty hard. It hit and stopped. Exactly what I would want it to do. If that keeps up with it, I will probably be playing it all year.

I think the Trispeed is a great ball. I prefer a softer feeling ball and I will be trying the Zip as it is said to be soft as well.
