Info on cleveland ta3 irons

I was wondering if anyone has games or still use these irons found a few sets for 100$ or so and am looking to possibly change out my blades to something that is goin to be nicer to me on slight miss hits, are they actually forged couldn't find any real info on this either any and all opinions welcome

[/quote]Hi, I use to game this iron competitively..great feel and feedback on misses. The ball flight was a little low for my liking even after adjusting the lofts and shaft type. I would suggest the CG models as opposed to the TA models,JMO.

Ty!! I'm actually looking for a lower ball flight which is most likely the shaft being a bit too soft for me but any particular cg model ?

[/quote] The CG7 Tour was used on TOUR by David Toms and Jerry Kelly for a number of years.

They aren't bad looking either!!! Might end up buying a few single irons and see how they stack up Ty for the suggestion

GREAT clubs! Great feel and ball flight. Just picked up a new set 588 Forged combo set 3-p for $549 at Golfsmith. These feel like the TA3 did when I had them --- awesome.

I played TA3s for a few years. Loved them. They were "form forged". From what I understand, they were cast and then stamped/pressed before finishing. Very consistent looking midsized irons that had some offset, a white bottom scoring line and no top line transition from the 8 to the 7. (All of them had a slight curve to the top line.) The badges in the cavity were prone to getting beat up but other than that, very durable.

I also played TA2s for awhile and they were softer feeling, slightly smaller versions of the TA3s.

I think Keegan Bradley still plays a variant of the CG Tours. They are a great looking players cavity.

I never really realize how many different golf clubs there are until I'm looking to buy some ?. I honestly like all of the aforementioned clubs now it comes down to which one I find first with the right shafts so all I have to worry about is grips

There are 2 types of TA3, the originals and the Form Forged version. The FF irons were a tad bit bigger. I played the original ones for a few years and loved them. Great feeling irons, even if they were cast.

Ta3 form forged...timeless

Originals were fully cast from a harder stainless steel. The Form Forged version were initially cast from 8020 carbon steel then went through a forging press for the final shaping stage. The material used will have a greater impact on feel than the production method.

Bringing this back from the dead...just bought the TA3 3-p in the gunmetal from a local Play it Again for $44.99....like new condition. I couldn't not buy them and I will try them tomorrow. Really good looking sticks.

I played ta3 for a while then went to the cg7 tour then to some Nike blades. The ta3 were awesome. Played them through high school and they were a solid choice. Can't go wrong with those

I still use Ta3 FF in 3 iron and 2 iron, wish I had the 4 iron (sold my old Ta3 Ta1 blade set a couple years ago)!
