I’m thinking of getting a Slighter and I have a few questions

I know many people on here have some experience with a Slighter. How do they compare in feel to other top end putters Cameron’s ext .

Should I look at getting the sound slot/floating face, on the site it said it affects the sound and feel of the putter what are the benefits of the sound slot floating face.

Head weight, I was thinking of getting a 350g head, I tried a Newport 2 33” 350g head but it felt good but it was a little short and a tad light. Should I look at a 34” 350g Slighter or go to a 360g head. I currently play a Teardrop TD31 it feels heavy but I have no idea what the head weight is.

How do you pronounce his last name lol.

Thanks.

I have a sweet pair of Slighter's works and love them both. The Bellevue is in the bag and is a better feeling putter than almost any Cameron I have owned. The only exception being a sweet Oval Track Oil Can Newport that I had a few years ago and the Slighter is at least equal in feel to that little gem.

My Bellevue is a 2nd owner putter. It's current specs are 34 1/2", 355 grams and a PING man grip. The shaft was a UST Freq. Filtered from Slighter, but I put that in my Tacoma and found a Bullseye-style fluted tip shaft for my Bellevue. The feel is incredible. The quality is as good or better than any Cammie I have owned, as well. With Tom's putters, you know that the entire putter is crafted from a block of Stainless steel (if that is your metal of choice) right here in the good ole USA.

Headweight for yours? From your comments, it sounds like you may benefit from a slightly heavier head at 360 grams. Tom will be able to hit almost any weight you throw at him.

Take a few minutes and fill out a quote form. Mitch is a great guy to deal with and will help guide you thru the process, if you have any questions.

Oh, the pronunciation of his last name is just as it is spelled, long "i" just like "slightly better than the rest." LOL.

You'll find plenty of Slighter owners here and should get a fair amount of feedback.

Best of luck on the entire process, it is an awesome thing.

Feel free to PM me if you have any questions at all.

Thanks,

LaMont in AZ

I currently have two Slighter's: a 34-inch, 350g Tacoma MOS and a 34-inch, 360g Tacoma with a sound slot. I am really pleased with both putters. The beauty of building a Slighter custom is that you get to decide on the specs, so if a 350g seems to light, you could have a 360g or even high head weight made for you.

I found my Tacoma with the sound slot to have a litttle more pop than my other one (no sound slot). The sound slot also gives the putter a low metallic ping sound. Whereas, the putter with no sound slot has more of a dull click type sound.

gunning4u: Thinking of getting a slighter is a good start. Contact Mitch, he'll help you out. If you like heavy head, go for it. About the sound slot, its personal perference. Personally i prefer without the sound slot, i like the feel better without it and also dont like the "click" sound. I hope this helps.

Had a Kirkland and loved it. Wound up selling it to help pay for my Long Neck Tacoma. The newer generation of Kirklands are even better than the one I had. Tom said that it was one of the first Kirklands he made. The newer ones have a much softer look without as many sharp edges and such. My Kirkland had a slot and I agree, it makes a noticable difference in sound when the ball hits the face.

The Kirkland has a very solid feel, similar in my opinion to the Bellevue. At 360 grams, a Kirkland would probably feel like butter, in a good way.

Just my 2-cents, again,
