A little bit of luck came my way this weekend. My old Covert Tour 1.0 hybird came back into my possession this weekend. I had let it go back when I picked up a Vapor Flex hybrid. I put it in play yesterday, and although I only had to hit one shot with it, it was nice to have it back in the bag. The one shot I hit was high and solid. It's time to say bye to the Vapor Speed 3 iron. It's usefullness of the tee is not enough to offset the difficulty for me off the ground.

I've been looking to find a new shaft for my Vapor Pro driver. I've been hitting driver very low lately, and have been wanting to try something that is higher launching than the Attas MK 6. This kind of fell in my lap today so to speak. A good friend of mine walked in and bought a TM Aeroburner TP off the rack and I swapped this shaft out for a Black Tie 7M3 X.

The Chrome was pretty low launch, but it was also an X flex. So it might not be a fair comparison. The Attas is pretty low launch for me. The feel of the Chrome was much better.

I hit the White Tie on the range tonight. Visually, the launch was much better. I'm hoping to hit on the simulator tomorrow or Saturday to compare some numbers.

I had a little time on Saturday to hit in our simulator to compare the launch numbers between the White Tie and the Attas MK.

Vapor Pro set at 11.5 N
Avg launch conditions for the MK: 9.2/2300 (spin is rounded up)
Avg launch conditions for the White Tie: 11.3/2500 (spin is rounded up)

The final yardages were very similar....I was hitting in the 280 range with both shafts. The good part for me was the White Tie was giving me a little more carry.

Yesterday, I was able to hit the range for about an hour. It was pretty easy to see that the White Tie was launching it higher when struck solid than I had been previously with the Attas. The plan is to hit the course Wednesday to do some more testing.

For some reason I didn't write those numbers down. I think I was between 151 and 153 with the Attas. I know I hit one 156 with the White Tie, but not all were that high. I'll try to get some numbers again tomorrow if I have time.

How's the white tie holding up? Have you ever hit the black tie? I can get one at second swing for $70 in a Covert performance.

The White Tie is good. I still miss the Elements Chrome feel, but I'm getting the ball flight that I want.

I've hit the Black Tie, but it isn't the best option for me. It's too low launch and has a more rigid feel than the White Tie. A buddy of mine has the SLDR 430 Black Tie combo though and loves it. He likes hitting low bullets that ran forever and hasn't found anything that can beat it.

Got to play 9 holes last night and used the new Callaway ball.

The 2016 Chrome Soft. It's really good. For the first few holes, I played two balls for each shot. One with the new Chrome Soft and one with the RZN Platinum. The Chrome Soft is softer/quieter off the putter. It also seems to launch a little higher off the driver. Distance is pretty close between the two....or at least it was last night. I hit a lot of greens last night, so I really don't have much to say for shots around the green. I was running on limited time and couldn't stand around hitting shots since I wanted to get all 9 in. I also have a sample of another 2016 Callaway ball that I will try to put into play next time and give a review.

I cant imagine they're crazy sliding weights moving cg forward even more than the R15 or SLDR can you comment on how it performs compared to those or was it just kind of a "they got the M1 in I'm gonna try it out kind of thing"

Yesterday was kind of the "there's the M1 I've gotta hit it" day since the rep only had 9.5 heads. I didn't even attempt the 430...just the 460. When my fitting heads arrive, I'll definitely try and dial a 10.5 head in.

The SLDR sucked for me. No other way to put it. No matter what shaft I tried, I couldn't get the launch and spin numbers right. Even with the 12 degree head, my carry numbers were horrible. My Nike CT 2.0 was carrying 15-20 yards more (and it wasn't properly fit to me). I also thought the SLDR felt harsh.

When the rep showed up with the R15 sample product I wasn't expecting much. The first ball with a 9.5 460 head (can't remember the shaft...prob stock stiff) destroyed any ball I'd ever hit with the SLDR. And the 430 10.5 combo he had was even better. Feel was 10 times better for me. When it came to the r15...I just like my Vapor Pro better. Look...shape...feel...those things win out. Distance between the two is virtually no different.

In the few swings I got in with the M1, I think it does feel hotter off the face than the r15. Time will tell. A 10.5 demo WILL find its way to the course. I wasn't sure I'd like the two-tone color of the head, but it's a non-issue for me. I like the weight...shape...and sound is great (in the sim anyways).

Very Helpful thanks, my vapor pro and sldr 430 had to have a shootout when i got my Vapor Pro, which won in the end just liked the headshape more, guess I'm gonna have to try the M1 when my local shop gets it in
