orange /white golf shoes anyone?

looking at the ecco casuals worn by badds.

my local store only carries them in white and orange, not the white and blue i was hoping for.

after trying them on and finding them to be incredibly comfortable, the orange color is starting to look really good to me.

i have always worn blue and black colors on the course and have no idea what colors go with orange;

in particular the pants.

 

any suggestions guys

i dont think blue looks good with black so orange has the advantage there. It depends what colour trousers you wear but navy and beige would also go well. I think orange is the in colour at the moment.

I remember getting my first pair of white shoes (Adidas Langer) as a 14(?) year old off about 9 and being told by the coach I had not to wear them until I was at least a 5 handicap as "white shoes are flashy and thus should only be worn by people who can play.."

 

God-knows what he would have made of orange ones....!

no offense intended but I can't believe you're asking a bunch of guys about color combinations. This never would have entered my mind as a possible solution as 97.3% of the guys I know have the fashion sense of meatloaf. Hell if I asked this question among any of the groups of my aquaintences they'd probably pound me into jello, even (especially) the old retired guys at the coffee shop in the morning. I suggest you pick out someone who dresses well and ask his wife/girlfriend.

 

Oh and orange/white shoes would go with beige, Khaki, dark blue, and even certain shades of tan. :drinks:

Orange and white are easier to match than white and blue. I'd so go for it. PLus, they look pimp as hell!

I will warn you right now that you do NOT want the white & blue ones. We have them in stock, and they look like a ladies shoe. Up until last week I just thought that one of our shoe guys had just mistakenly put a ladies shoe on the men's shoe rack.

 

They look NOTHING like the pictures on the website. It's far from a navy or even a royal blue....it's almost like a lilac purplish girly blue. I'd say go orange for sure....or possibly the green, but I haven't seen those in person yet.

 

These shoes rock though...I'm ordering up a pair of the white/orange ones myself. Most comfortable golf shoe I've ever put on my foot.

It's something a lot of people don't know, because there is too much emphasis on fashion these days. They just see the recognizeable brand and that prompts them to buy.

 

I do agree that they have very cool styling, but they're just not functionally sound enough to last anyone 4+ hours on a golf course, especially if you carry/pull your clubs. Pumas are great as a casual shoe these days...and that's about it.

 

The ultimate test is next time you see a pair of the puma golf shoes in a shop, pick them up, grab the heel in one hand and the toe in the other, and twist. The pumas fold like a bad poker hand, making them very unstable. When you consider the amount of lateral movement you undergo in your golf swing, you're going to want a shoe that is laterally stable with only a little bit of flexibility. You'll notice that when you do that same test to the majority of the other golf shoes, there's not a lot of movement, and if there is, it takes quite a bit of strength for them to do so.

 

 

The good thing is that Puma doesn't make sizes big enough to fit me anyway, so I'll never be tempted :p

Hmmm... I don't agree with a lot of this post...

 

I have a couple pairs of Puma golf shoes (PG GTX and PG Breeze). Both are very light weight, with the leather/Gore-Tox GTX's being a little heavier). I have a narrow foot, and although I wouldn't consider these shoes "narrow", they do fit me really well. I have walked many rounds in them, and they are extremely comfortable. But beyond the confort of them, they give incredible traction. Because of the confort and traction, I never once felt that they weren't "supportive" enough.

 

I am not a sratch golfer, but I'd submit that if you're swinging "properly" (shifting your weight as you're supposed to, and not over-swinging, all while having good traction), then I don't see where you would need more support than these shoes provide.

 

Heck, these shoes have been working just fine for Geoff Ogilvy, I'd say. You can even win a Major wearing them, apparently.

 

Let me say that I don't have arch or other foot issues that cause me to require a certain footbed shape, etc. So, if we're talking about these shoes having a lack of support in some realm outside of supporting a good golf swing, then I can't help you there.
