I am not a Dunlop expert but I think they may be mid 80s. Looking at the picture you posted I may have a pitching wedge for that set. I will have to get into my other building to see though. Heck If I have it you pay the postage and it is yours

Just went out to the range...didn't have too much trouble hitting them, was even pounding the four iron out there nicely! Be interesting to see how my yardage play out on the course, but I don't imagine them being too different than my original Nike blades that I play. They felt really nice. If that PW and 5 iron come through, I'll be so stoked!

There are a few variations of the Australian Blades. I have the set pictured above and also the Made in Australia red dot version. Love them both.

Here is a bit of the history from Ralph Maltby (he's answering a question on a forum):

"In 1976 the Australian Blade which was made in Australia came out. This was sold also in the USA. However, this model had "Made in Australia" on the back under Maxfli with the red dot. At the end of 1977 the USA version of the Australian Blade came to market and the model actually made in Australia was dropped. In 1977, 1978 and 1979, Maxfli used the red dot on the USA made Australian Blades. In 1980 (could have been 1979) the red dot disappeared. So, my guess is that you have a 1977, 1978 or 1979 Australian Blade made in the USA. If it said made in Australia, you would have a very valuable set of irons (collectable as these irons were sought after by tour players). It obviously will be hard to find the #7 iron you are missing, so I hope this helps a little. Also, remember that the model years of golf clubs can have quite a bit of overlap because of available inventories, closeouts, etc. PS I think I am pretty accurate on the above because Dunlop (Maxfli) came to me in 1979 and asked that I help them with the USA version of the Australian Blade. It seems that no one really liked it (good players and tour players) and they still preferred the built in Australia version. The USA version was really a copy of the Australia version but was very poorly done and really wasn’t even close. So, I made new models and they sunk new forging dies and my version came out in the 1981 or 1982 model. It was still confusing because they were still dumping the messed up version at the same time as trying to sell my new one. This whole Dunlop relationship with me is actually a very interesting story if I told it completely which I promise to do someday. Obviously, at the time it was a super secret project and I was sworn to secrecy."

Would be much appreciated!
[/quote]Bingo found it this morning right where I thought it was. Drop me a e mail The one i have looks a little different but it came off of one of the tour vans we delt with when we had the golf shop. It still has a sticker on it but no shaft band but by looking at it and counting the steps I think it is a S300. Has a pretty good cord grip on it still. glad I found it because I had two Snake Eyes forged that came off the van also. Like I said it is yours

The UK market versions were made when Dunlop Slazenger was a serious player in the market. They were forged at John Letters and were as good as anything Hogan, Powerbilt, Mizuno, Wilson Staff and Maruman made. One of my regular partners still has his well worn set that he won club championships at 2 clubs with. Your red paintfill is a DIY as all Maxfli blades (Pro Original, DP30, DP40 etc) had simple black fill.

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
