Great to know, thank you for responding. I would need to get the blessing from my wife to ditch the family stuff that morning but I just may be able to work it out. If thinigs dont materialize I will be trying that angle.

Too bad you aren't doing it two days later - have two open spots at the 8am tee time on the 4th.

Well, I played Copake CC yesterday and was very let down. Decent property but poor design and shoty upkeep. I expected more. Today I'm playing Equinox up in Machester VT and tomorrow I'm hoping to play Wintonbury Hills. I need to be off before 8am due to picking people up at the airport and i just saw there is a two sum at 7:50 so that may be the best I can do. It sounds like it takes a full 4.5 hours but im hoping at that time of the day it may flow faster.

Which airport? If Boston/Logan, take their landing time, and add about 30 min for them to debark and get checked luggage. Then you can also always blame the horrible traffic that they're known for. ;)

Interested to hear what you see as "poor design" at Copake. I think it's one of the more fun and interesting golf courses I've played anywhere, especially in the 6,200 yard range.

Wintonbury Hills does have Dye's name on it and a Dye look, but Dye's then-main guy Tim Liddy basically designed Wintonbury. It's delightful and worth playing all the same; just wanted to clarify.

Well, I playing it for the first time and as a single I didn't care for how many "up hill blind approaches there were. I played very well that day and hit a lot of shots that I thought would be on the money only to find out that the the greens not shaped the way I pictured it to be. I believe 10 of the 18 holes have uphill approaches and no sight of the putting surface, also hole 18, a flat par three with so sight of the of the green. That mean 11 of the 18 holes you either need course knowledge or something. Nest time I play it I will probably enjoy it much more.

Nothing personal it just didn't fit my eye. That being said an 84 was a decent score all things being considered.

Well you know what they say: "Blind shots are only blind the first time." I think you'll like it a good bit more next time.
