Thanks for the replies folks :)
Regardless of the OEM is people's bags, apart from rare occasions where I've seen a SLDR, AMP/Bio Cell, a set of 714s, or MP54s, very few of the clubs are brand new current model year ones.

Either folks don't swap out like WRXers (well that's a given obviously) or they have copped on to the heavy discounts of 6-18 months old equipment and wait until then.

I was just going to say in my neck of the woods, east TN, I see mostly tmag. I think it has to do with the fact that they always have something on sale at Dick's. When I play with a better player or see better players bags, titliest woods seem to dominate that group here with a mix of either their irons also or mizuno normally. Callaway and ping are next but more distant, although I've seen quite a few g25 and xhot head covers of late.

The private club scene is limited here though being 2 hours from the nearest "bigger" city of Knoxville, and over 3 hours to what most of you would call a big city in either Charlotte or Atlanta. I'd say 90% of people around here got there clubs on sale at Dick's, especially the woods.

80% of the "Good" players at my club are playing TaylorMade woods.

A lot of Ping irons. Vokey across the board on wedges.

Some Titleist irons. Very few Mizuno.

Our Junior players are starting to gravitate towards Cobra irons.

Scotty Cameron has the putter market wrapped up.

My club is pretty much all titleist , ping and mizuno irons. Drivers would probably be TM.
90% Pro V1's. We call them the Northfork top flight, because that's all you find in the weeds.

Well I might have another round in me this year, but I thought I'd post the updated totals before calling it a year and getting away from the 'puter for a bit.

It really is a Taylormade driver world and we just live in it.

driversirons2014_zpsad32cef6.png

Still mainly older clubs, did see one G30 driver, one set of Cally Apex irons, a handful of SLDRs, and a few sets of 714 Titleists.

The most important thing though, of those 181 different golfers, there was only 1 (yes only 1!) that I wouldn't want to play with again in a million years, otherwise it was largely a cross-section of fine folks who also enjoy the game of golf. I even got a gift from one playing partner, I'm such a lovely fella - whoulda thunk it right? ;)

Note: I'm an idiot and forgot to jot down irons on 3 occasions, hence the difference in the totals.

Just wondering, after really enjoying the talley here....on random pairings out on the course, beside asking for club makeups of fellow golfers - what about snapping a quick cell phone cam shot of each bag minus headcovers?

If others are accepting, wouldn't that be a cool collage of pics to post someday? Doesn't need to list clubs in each, just the visual. Our own WITB jpg. forum isn't enough!

In my area the low hcp players use a very narrow band of equipment....

Drivers are usually Ping, Titleist or TM. Cally no longer popular.

Fairways Ping, Titleist and Cally far more popular.

Hybrids. Titleist, Ping, TM, Adams.

Irons. Ping, Titleist and TM dominate. Some Mizuno and Nike.

Putters. Odyssey, Ping, TM, Scotty. A lot of the Ping and SC's are older models.

Wedges. Vokey, Ping, Vokey, Ping....the odd old battered Hogan and Cleveland and me and another lad using Nikes.

Balls. Titleist and Srixon head to head. Z-Stars have a lot of fans in my area. Some TM Tour Pref usage. Nobody uses a Nike or Cally ball unless they are trials. Our local and off course store and Pro have B330s down to $30 and still can't sell them...

Shoes. Adidas, Ashworth and Ecco in the spikeless option. Regular sole design splits between FJ, Nike, Adidas, Ecco.

Ping and Titleist walk the bag count by a huge margin.

Waterproofs. Galvin Green Goretex at the top end (you buy a Galvin and keep it for years), Footjoy, Ping, Pro Quip. Under Armour and Adidas making inroads along with Oscar Jacobson (very classy stuff)...
