Pigs,

Something happened with my previous 'Cheeko' reference. I was posting as you were but something went haywire. The Piglet is making progress, won't be long before he's posting scores in the 40's.

Funny how fortunes can change from one day to the next Pigs.

Is that a birdie that I see on 'Cheeko's' card?
[/quote]

It really is funny how that works eh lol.

That certainly is a Birdie sir, kid went Driver, Putter for Birdie 2 with no help from the computer. :)

Do tell Pigs. Has to be a connection to 'lefties' and Cheech and Chong correct?

It's actually a funny story, we'll for me anyways lol. He was out one day playing on his skateboard with a buddy of his who was riding one of those little scooters. Well they were riding down the road slowly just chit chatting when his skateboard wheel fetched up on a little rock and stopped dead and he kept going lol. He landed butt first somehow right on the metal brake of his friends scooter lol. The next day his entire right butt cheek was black, blue and purple so for the next couple weeks I kept calling him "Cheeko" and after that it just kind of stuck lol. But man was that ever a huge bruise, he took it like a champ though :)

Ok, looking at your numbers something doesn't look right. 105 mph SS should get 160+ ball speed. You have 140 ball speed. Something doesn't seem right!? Your launch is still way too low?! Should be 12-14*, not 7*.

I wasn't hitting center of the face were often last night with the driver. I was hitting it towards to heel a lot, and if I tried to stand a little farther away from the ball in was getting these big draws. If you do the math I only get around 1.32/1.33 smash factor. I don't get where I lose so much ball speed, I see all the other guys getting up there with similar ss's and I don't get it. More practice needed I guess. :)

I'd like to blame it on the crappy pinnacle range balls that they use there, but they don't effect the other guys ball speed. It was the same with my g20, so it's not the club it's the Indian.

Pigems, no expert here, and I'd kill for your swingspeed, and flexibility. I hear you on the mishits, but your Angle of Attack on these anyway has to be mostly negative. It's not a stat I see captured on the prior page, but one surmises it from the launch angle mostly and also the spin rate, though the spin rate prob would be higher on heel shots alone. It looks to me that you do seem to be hitting down on it a bit with the driver on the phone-captured vids, though it's hard to see it well of course. Maybe try moving the ball forward just a shade to try, like even one ball width??

Of course the better advice probably is to see that guy you found for lessons, maybe before the season starts for grass play. :dntknw:

I would say you are correct about my AoA, it is most likely level to negative, I wish the simulator would record that stat. I'm definitely going to look into this place for lessons not only for me, but TP is at a perfect age for lessons now as well. I'll get it sorted out in time, I have to stop expecting such quick results lol.

If you have a negative AoA, you need more loft on your driver. And to get the spin down, stiff tip shaft. Tom Wishon just wrote an article on that this past week. And why are you using their balls? Where we go, you use your own ball.

I looked last night and was thinking about these things but
was reluctant to say anything, lol.

Optimum launch is supposedly 17 degrees and 1700 rpm
backspin. Hitting down increases accuracy but creates
more backspin. Some are advocates of hitting down to
increase fairways hit and people have their own opinions
of course, about hitting up or down with the driver.

I think most are in the hitting up school when it comes to
efficiency and maxing out distance. Doesn't hurt to try it
Pigs. As MSOI says you can move the ball forward a
little, you can employ a reverse K driver set up to give
you some spine tilt away from the target.

You can do small things like that without messing with
your swing. I don't know about a stiff tip shaft as that
will lower further your launch angle even more. Hitting
up will reduce some of that unwanted backspin.

And play with a softer ball that you can really compress.
That will increase smash factor, too, and add more distance.

I went over to the simulator today and played the tournament course that they have going for January. The top 16 get to play for prizes at the end of the month. I went over not expecting much, but found out when I got there that 16th place was a +24. The round started off a little rough but after the first few holes I really found a nice groove and managed to stay in it somehow lol. I could have almost erased the rest of the bogies too if a few more putts dropped in. I lipped out at least 2 birdie putts and missed a couple more by not very much. But my swing felt really good today and was pretty consistent. I wish every day was like that lol. I ended up with a 77(+5) and in 6th place in the standings. So I guess now I just need to wait it out and see if I'm still in by the end of the month because I don't think I'll beat that score on that course. It was hard, and I got lucky a couple times with good bounces. Like on 18, my tee shot was fading left heading for on when it stuck a pole light mid flight and bounced back in play. Leaving me under a bridge for my second lol. but I'll take it :)

My SS is in the 106-109 range and I never seem to get to 155 ball speed even on center punched shots. Either the meter is a bit "hot" or something in the calculation is off. I am usually around 1.42-1.45 for smash factor... not sure how much better it could get.

We were in your territory late Thurs night/Fri morn, lol. Delivered
to a place called Professional Hospital Supply up on a hill on
Winchester. In and out as usual, no time for anything. Thought
about just waving at the town, lol, cause Gaucho lives here
somewhere.

What kind of carry/total/Launch angle do you get? I rarely see a ball speed over 149/150. Most times it's between 139-145.

Unless their balls are marked such that the simulator is able to measure their dynamics, and personal balls are not allowed, you would probably be better served by using those with which you are familiar. :)

They're not special balls, just pinnacles with a golfzon logo. You can use your own, it's just hard to find it mixed in with all the other balls after each shot lol.

Or you could mark them like I mark the old Titleist Velocity I use to play putt putt with our dog... a skull and crossbones :D:D

I bought the Piglet some Wilson 50 Elites in yellow, I forgot about that. I'll have to borrow a couple, They would be easier to find and it the same balls I use anyways.
