I just found out some additional information that may make some happy. Nike is going to let you choose the color of the swoosh in the vapor irons. If you don't like the neon green you will be able to change it. This should make some happy!!!
Time to start playing with different color combos on the laptop!!!
lol, I have been doing that myself. I will probably just go with black though.

I have to say, these pictures make the iron look pretty sweet. I love the look of the protos. The web site shots make the vapors look pretty cheap, but these pictures do them better justice. I definitely want to give them a run at the bag.

I see Tiger's version has the mirror chrome finish too, unlike the standard satin finish for this model.

Sorry if this has already been said.

Sure thing. He stated that Nike decided to do this because of all backlash they are getting about the volt green paintfill.

These clubs are no more ugly than some of the customization(coloured ferrules, brown poop iron refinishing, custom paint fill, custom stamping, etc) that get so roundly applauded in the club tech folder. In fact these are much better looking than many of those customizations.

Does anyone know why the clubs are so long? The blade PW is 36" when most are 35.75" or even 35.5".
You sure love to hate nike haha. But to argue with ya, they aren't long. Nike measures differently than say titleist. For example, they list their drivers at 45.5, but they are the same size as a 913 driver who says its 45". So I'm assuming it is a standard length pw, similar to titleist.
The means of measurement should be the same regardless of manufacturer. The only question is whether they measure to end of grip or shorter, and Titleist measures to end of grip.

To your specific example, the only way for a Nike 45.5" to be the same length as a Titleist 45" is if Nike measures their drivers completely incorrectly.
Nike does measure their clubs differently. They do not use the method you see in every golf shop. That Mitchell Golf club ruler measures every club at the same lie angle, 61* if I'm not mistaken, but don't quote me on that. Nike uses the "green machine" which is designed to measure each club at it's playing lie angle. Which leads to the length difference people talk about with Nike clubs when compared to Titleist, Mizuno, etc.

You will see a "brand new, state-of-the-art fitting system" coming this fall (Nov.) to retailers when they launch the irons. They're saying it'll be "best in class."

It'll then be taken to another level in the spring when the woods line launches.

Great!! Can't wait test it out. They definitely need an upgrade to their fitting system.

I completely forgot about this. I could have swore last fall that they were supposed to be bringing the new fitting system to us this spring. It will blow your minds. Without giving to many details, there will be sensors and you will be able to check out the clubs and take them to the course, unless they've changed things since it was explained to me.

Do they mess them up on purpose....unbelievable how they took a nice looking iron and just f$#% it up for public...they will be giving these away in 6-12months....sure they feel good but golfers like to look at their irons as well

No they measure to the middle of the face instead of down the shaft like titleist and others do. I'm not sure there is a standard but I just saw you play titleist so I was just saying the covert driver is the same length as the 913, but one says 45.5 the other says 45.

Finally!  Excuse the fact that this is a rough cut, but you guys will enjoy.

It's Tiger talking about his swing, testing, feel and more.  He's as much a gear head as any of us, from look and shape, to offset, traditional lofts, to turf interaction.  Enjoy!

Guess this product will suck considering the haters in this thread...oh, wait its nearly 40 pages long. Probably one of the fastest moving threads I have ever seen on WRX.

I for one, will for certain demo these clubs, I demo'd the VR pro combo and Covert 2.0 forged, nice irons, but not enough to beat out some others. These look great, but time will tell. I have nothing against Nike, if anything they are doing it right, only releasing products when they are ready to, not when they need to hype marketing to show a profit every quarter.... I'm looking at you TM/Callaway.
