I talked with Nike customer service today, same length as the CF 2.0, they are measuring differently. They said they used to measure to the line in the end of the grip, now they are going to the shoulder of the grip.

And that begs the question, what is the industry standard and how do these lengths compare to same? If Nike is now using the same metric, the GI versions are much longer then anything I have seen. And if so, it is no surprise that they play longer. We all talk about jacked up lofts but added length is a bigger factor in the distance game.

The pro shop I deal with had the Vapor CB's on the rack so I measured the Vapor CB to the 714 AP2 and they are exactly the same length.

Sure, and even though that makes them unwieldy for some like me, so long as they are sold, or marketed as distance irons, that's ok.

FWIW, I honestly think that the length has more (not everything, but more) to do with distance gains than the jacked lofts, though they go hand in hand. You have to crank the lofts if you are going to make the club longer, or else you get ballooning or uncontrollable flights.

There really should be a standard for something as simple as measuring the length of a club, but I doubt it would ever happen. : /

FWIW... I was a little disappointed in the way the Nike volt swoosh paintfill was applied...pretty sloppy IMO especially for a $1050 set of irons.

Read much? Yes the way it was applied. Sloppy. Some of the Volt paintfill is running onto the black pvd area. I would say that's pretty sloppy.
It was just the one set on the floor so maybe the paint fill person had an off day on that particular set.

Pro and combo have tour velvet with volt. Speed has 2G wrap

The irons sets I've seen so far in the store have no bad paint fill.

Of course, when making thousands of sets flaws will happen in them, like any other products.
