Armlock stroke

Why has the armlock stroke not gained more traction? I guess after the ban is in place more people will look for alternatives.

 

I have been messing around with an armlock betti 1 and I have to say I am impressed. It took about a week to get used to the extreme forward press that is required but man is it stable.

My guess would be that it's difficult to find putters with 6-8 degrees of loft. Betti is the only brand I know of that does arm-lock specific putters.

A few of my buddies have picked up the arm-lock technique and it has really improved their putting. They both use Bettinardi Kuchar Models which are sweet looking. Unfortunately, i did not have much luck with this putting style.

odyssey do a specific arm lock putter, i had the dart (not sure if they do it with other models) and i hated it, just didnt feel right to me

Stubbornly, I have tried the arm-lock method with properly fitted putters 3 or 4 times, and always end up feeling as uncoordinated as a dog in rubber boots.

Trying counter-balanced Odyssey Tank Cruisers now. Feels less clumsy.

[/quote]I tried it a few times, and I just couldn't get the feel for it for the life of me. On the counterbalanced note, I got bored and cut off a 38" Tank versa #7 CB. I ditched the butt weight and added the 15" heavy winn grip and it seems really solid.

I'm 2 seasons into the arm lock stroke with a Kuch 1. I was an awful putter, averaging 38-41 putts per round with every kind, make and model putter around. The arm lock has made me an average to slightly above average putter, which seemed miles away a couple of seasons ago. As awkward as it is, I would strongly recommend for those looking for answers on the green.

Any tips for installing the arm-lock grip? I bought one and am wanting to blow it on but have not installed a grip without the traditional tape and solvent slide on method. Can I put this on with masking tape? No tape? Do I need solvent? Really appreciate any tips from those who have done this before I screw up a $30 grip!
