I love a little rust on the back side of the club
Ill actually CLR the face and keep it clean and rust free
this wedge does look incredible tho
great tip clr is magic just make sure to dilute it a little with water and not leave it on for more than 1-2 minutes before rinsing and wiping. Also a rag with olive oil will do wonders

Sole of both wedges
They are dirty as I just got done playing. And you can see the marks from a rock hidden in the rough on my 58. That really pissed me off and made it almost a guarantee I will be getting the engage wedges just need to convince the misses. Last time she just knew I was going to order them some how and put it to a stop.

Playin my first round with the Engage today, so frickin excited. I might just purposely hit an approach shot into a bunker so I can have a go.

I used to play VR Pro (2012) 54.12 and 58.10 wedges and now I'm using VR Pro (2014) 54 DS and 58 TS. With the 54 DS and 58 TS there is a tendency for them to dig on chips/pitches off of tight lies. I'm probably going back to the '12 VRs due to the higher bounce, but still curious with the Engage line.

Those that used the VRs and are now using the Engage, have there been any issues? I know the Engage have lower stated bounce than previous Nike wedges.

So...a buddy I play with is on staff with nike and we played a tournament this weekend. He got his engage wedges tuesday and played them for the first time saturday during the first round of the tournament, and I have to say it was the best short game performance I've ever seen in my life. He chipped in twice for birdie, one of wich was a thirty yard, through the trees, bump and run on his first wedge shot of the day, lol. So his first shot with the engage 58 in a round was insane and holed out. He also chipped in for eagle on 17, and hit it to less than a foot 3 or 4 other times, and knocked it stiff on a couple full swings with them. By far the best full round performance from inside 100 yards I've ever witnessed. He also got his Mod 90 and everybody we were paired with had to ask him about it and give it a waggle.

Got in a full round today playing in a local tourney. This 52 square is the best club in my bag. It's my 100 yard and in club unless it's a green side bunker. For the most part I had several 90 yard shots today and this bad boy is pretty much point and shoot!

Played my first full round with the TS this afternoon. Within the first two holes, I knew it was a keeper. First hole, I went a little long on the approach and had a downhill, left-to-right chip that I hit to kick-in range. The next hole, par 3, I pull my 8 iron left of the green on a hill. Chip shot was with the ball below my feet and downhill. I popped it right onto the fringe and it rolled right in the hole for birdie. Had a couple really nice up and downs with this club, including the last hole where I almost chipped in again. I only hit one full shot with it, and hit it a tad heavy, but that was all because of my swing, and the ball still ended up just short of pin high 11 feet away.

If it doesn't get rained out, today's round might be make or break for two of the Engage wedges. The 58 DS is staying put. I'm starting to hit some good full and half shots with it and I really like it around the greens.

The 50 SQ is as good as it gets. I love the shape, the grind, spin is good...I'm just hitting it too far. It's within a couple of steps of my PW on full swings. The 54 TS is still the overall question mark. It's been better out of the bunker, solid on half shots, but I'm still not the biggest fan of it on full shots. During yesterday's practice, it was still pushed right on full shots. Only one of the three to act like that.

I'm looking at either dumping the 50 and 54 for the 52 SQ or dumping the 54, and bending the 50 to 51 and maybe bending the 58 to 57. I had to run to my store yesterday and get tees (the bag I bought a few days ago pulled a vanishing act...never fails with me) and stared at the 52 SQ for a few mins before deciding to give the current setup another shot today.

Played this weekend with the 58 DS replacing the long standing spot in the bag filled by the Vokey 58 M. Complete success, the Vokey can be retired and has done great things but the 58 DS Engage works perfectly if not a bit better with a fresh face. Once I got the grip on the Engage to my spec it was a seamless switch from Vokey M to Engage DS. The leading edge is much more square on the engage which is a good thing and in particular is a real benefit for using the leading edge as a putter which is a shot I do not hesitate to use when it comes up on the course. Well done Nike! Now will consider testing the SS as a gap wedge replacement.

Good luck buddy!

Here's my .02 the TS should only be played in 58* and 60*. Bunkers and rough around the greens. The TS is money in bad lies, the worst lies the better the club performs.

The SQ is so versatile that I'd game it from 46-57*

If the TS wasn't so good from the junk and sand I'd game the 58 SQ.

Shakey, you move the ball left or right? I'm having a hard time on full swings too and I hit a draw/never have an open club face. A couple buddies who hit fades have had better success with the TS on full swings. I wonder if the toe gets in the way for those of us who shut it down.

I tend to play a draw most of the time. If it wasn't for the distance question with the 50, I would just swap the 54 TS for the 54 SQ.

except I am loving my TS from super tight lie's around the green too
I could literally chip this rig FROM THE GREEN and not skull it

but ya, anything below a 58/60 Id be going SQ for sure

Update from yesterday:

The 58 DS has gotten better with every round. I almost holed an 80-something yard shot from the fairway and just missed chipping one in from the fringe (not good in a scramble..but still). It's got a spot in the bag.

I didn't get a chance to hit the 50 SQ at all yesterday.

The 54 TS is done. I had two full shots from the fwy yesterday from 100-105 and missed the green right both times. I would say they were just bad swings, but neither the DS or the SQ go right like this. I like the TS from the bunkers and the rough (same results I saw with the 58 TS I had last year), but I don't trust it from the fairway.

The question now is do I dump the 50 and 54 for a 52 SQ or swap the 54 TS for a 54 SQ?

I'm leaning toward the 52 SQ at this point. I think it's the TS grind that doesn't work well for me from the fairway. I think the 54 SQ would perform better than the TS, but I'll prob just end up with the 52.
there was a post on the stock shaft on the new wedges, which left me curious what shaft i have on my vr_pro wedges.

so on the sticker on the shaft it says s400. but as the club is almost 2 years old, the sticker comes slighlty of, and below of the sticker, there is another on that says s200.
so wtf????
Some of the older stickers had two flexes on them. They would tuck the wrong flex side of the sticker under the correct flex on the sticker. I used to have a bunch of stickers that had S300 on one side and R300 on the other. Just put the right flex showing on the sticker depending on the shaft.
