Some guys with a death wish in the old days used to put magnets under the bottom plate, then try to smoothly move their ball mark when they thought no one was looking.
UH HUH so you have seen that old hustler's trick too. I caught a guy doing that playing me. I did not say anything at the time but it got me in my take no prisoners mode and I proceeded to beat him out of 3 bets that side. He wanted to double up on the back side and I said no way I don't play with cheaters. He said what do you mean? I flicked a steel ball mark on the sole of his putter and it stuck in full view of 10 people out there in the yard! He never did get any more "action" around there again

Regarding the Zebra bend. Very different. Not double bend. I guess triple bend. Also hole his 8 degrees back and 4 to face. Clever

Can you name any other type of putter before it with a shaft bend even close to it?
Also, is this profile still used today and by who ?

After posting on the 3rd of March, I took a meeting with a local pro who was reputed to be a Zebra nut. It proved true as I watched him bring out no less than 8 putters, just in his office. He said that he had many more at home. The cool thing? When I flipped one over to look at the sole, it was full of epoxy, no sole plate. Six of the eight were done this way, LOL.
Tad, you were right. There are many guys who have made this conversion to create a very solid feel and great weight. Now, I am jones-ing to try it myself.
I'll report back over the weekend.

PS- Here is the putter that I took to that meeting. I started it about 2 years ago and the reason for doing so went away. I brought it back out a few times to tinker, but did not finish it until about a week before my meeting. There is a cool story in that, but some other time.

I do not know if anyone ever used it years ago but the bend I have used and many do now. Another way to get a face balance.
I read your post and sat there and studied it for a while and figured it out and really understand it now. One thing about it if You , Mr Penna or Tom Wishon speak I pay good attention and analyize and learn . Thanks for posting that

I think the earlier one with the removable soleplate and the washers that you could replace was the first "real" putter I ever bought for myself (beyond my first department store junk one)... Mine was the black version. But my favorite one came a few years later when they made one with a much softer aluminum head. Couldn't change the weight of it but it felt much better IMO. Great putter.

I know to this point in the thread the process was clarified that the sole plate wasn't put back on but wanted to see what occurred / was the effect when sole was filled with epoxy and sole plate was reinstalled. Has anyone tried that?
The only problem with that is figuring out the expansion rate of a particular epoxy with temp and humidity etc. I guess it could be done though and where it expanded around the small gap in the sole plate it could be sanded of filed. Mr. Moore probably has a plausible reason why he did it like he did it of course. This was just my theory and I may be totally in left field

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
