Yes the Maybach is kind of ugly. It'd one of those cars that looks like they built a nice looking car and then put it in a microwave for a couple minutes. And I stole that line.

 

It's about as pretty as True Linkswear shoes.

 

Last year I went to a reception at the MGM in Vegas where they were kind of showing off a new room type they were marketing that included Maybach service from the airport. Had a chance to just sit in the back of one and its pretty clear that car was designed from the right-back seat out. They wanted to make that seat as nice as possible but didn't give AF how the exterior looked. Massage seat that actually reclined too - never seen anything like that.

 

People that ride in that thing don't give one F how the exterior looks. Personally I didn't think it was the worst car I'd ever seen but thankfully its not a problem I'll ever have to deal with.

Based on recent outings drinking early seems to be the answer and I don't drink water fish f&ck in it.

Just trying to make sure I get the pacing correct. So we'll start by getting you a Bloody Mary on the practice green before we tee off. Then we'll switch to a well-paced regiment of beers to get you through the round.

 

I will stick to consuming fish copulation medium, since I'm wispy and play terrible when I drink.

 

Y'all just need to FIGURE out that line--where you forget how to swing a golf club--- and DONT cross it.

Today's submission for "Only on GolfWRX"

 

I wouldn't have purchased a set of irons if one of the clubs had a rock mark on it. I have the Xtreme Dark finish on my 0311's and they are wearing well so far. A sandy range doesn't help keep them pristine but I also recognize golf is played on grass, sand, hard pan and other surfaces. That said, if I thought I was going to put a scar on my club due to where the ball came to rest, I'd add 1 stroke and take an unplayable penalty.

USGA US Open site has some nice vids for the Open. I am so excited. EH is my favorite golf course. It's an amazing property. Huge is the only way to describe it, and the patio area off of the practice green and 1st hole is spectacular. Full hard-on for the Open this year.

Tales from the south...

 

So when I was leaving breakfast, I said "mustard was the right call."

 

She goes, "I wouldn't tell you no stories."

 

Played a PB Dye course in the hills.

 

I called first and they had a 2 and a 3 going off around 10. So I get there and those 5 all knew each other, but one had dropped so I got stranded. Went off behind 8 women and in front of that 4.

 

Insanely hilly course. Every green broke about a foot more than anything I'm used to. Huge elevation changes. Had a DOWN hill 226 yard par 3 that I went over with a 4 iron.

 

I was waiting on the 4th tee when the group behind me came up. I go, "I just four putted that green".

 

Guy goes, "I just aced it." damn. He got down in less than I did from 3 feet.

 

Got paired up with 2 guys who played through the foursome on about the 6th.

 

On about the 15th, I finished teeing off and was waiting for them to hit. There's a house about 20 yards off the tee box. A guy came out his front door, started pumping up a pellet gun and shooting at squirrels on his bird feeder (pics much later).

 

I played with 7 Clubs and all day I was right on a gap, it seemed. Probably had about 36 putts.

 

So many greens were just tiny circles perched up like table tops with fall-offs every where,like hitting balls onto Devil's Tower.

 

After the round I got barbecue and a cold beer at a towing company that sold Mike and Jeff's Barbecue and cold beer. "they bring in fresh barbecue every other day."

 

Fresh barbecue.

 

I told them I was going to eat on the picnic tables out front.

 

Guy goes, "weell, I don't really have a license so be careful."

 

I go, "well, will you get in trouble."

 

"weeel, not as much trouble as yew."

 

It was funnier in the original language.

 

I put the beer in a paper bag.

Actually hit some pretty sweet chips today, but the way I drove it, if I had my full set and wasn't wild-guessing yardage, I could have scored.

 

Was a fun course. Took driver out of your hands a couple times. The massive elevation changes define it, though. Don't even have a point of comparison. Some similar holes to the Preserve at Jordan Lake. Tipped at 66.

They're actually doing a 3 course rotation. One of the courses is the Furman University course so I might play that Sunday.

 

Either that or the "Walker" course at Clemson.

I have not been playing much and definitely have not been playing well so I had an emergency lesson last night at 8:30 pm after work from Jim Kardash at Arundel Golf Center. Jim is a miracle worker as I showed up hitting hosel rockets close to heel and he immediately fixed it. I had today off for a match at USNA, 4 player best ball with handicaps, and most of the lesson translated to the course and my team won 6&4. My score wasn't great as after the match was over, we played the last 4 holes quickly to get out of the rain and I played the last 4 in 5 over, but I'm feeling better about my game finally.
