How much does 1 degree less loft of your driver reduce spin in rpms? Does is have a big impact, or does a shaft have a lot more impact than loft would?

the shaft could have a larger effect on spin, if you're going from a diamana white board or an oban kiyoshi black spin won't be to drastically changed, it will change, but at that point the loft would do more. But lets say you have a mid launch shaft, then find a lower launching one and that would help, and go up a flex, time and time again i see guys who spin the ball in the high 3000 with 97 mph swings actually hit the ball further with an x flex because they get better launch, even though they would conventionally fit in a stiff.

Loft will ALWAYS produce more of an effect over all than shafts will.

At 100 MPH of head speed, a 1* loft change will alter spin roughly 260+-. As club head speed increases, the effect increases. Once you get into tour caliber speeds, it's in the 300 RPM range. Keep in mind, loft changes or shaft changes that alter spin, will also alter the launch angles as well. For 1* of loft change, it's around .6-.8* of launch angle change.

For the above poster you got me thinking. My driver SS ranges from 95-100 and my spin when I went to a Bridgestone fitting was 3450. I never thought that an X flex would help. Can you provide so other details on why an X vs. S may help somebody like me? Even 5 yards more of the tee is worth looking at.
