Ben Hogan Ft. Worth 15 Irons and Wedges

just received my full set of new Ben Hogan irons last week week. I'm blown away with how easy they are to hit and how my accuracy to greens has improved since playing these irons. I am an average golfer at best(13.5 handicap index) and was very unsure if my swing was good enough to play these irons. All of my concerns have been alleviated since playing a couple of full rounds. They have distributed weight in and around the sweet spot which when hit flushed, the ball explodes off the club face. More important, slight to moderate misses do not result in poor shots. The gapping system Hogan has designed is ingenious. And, there is no problem mastering the loft numbers versus conventionally numbered irons. My caddy had no problem clubbing me correctly with the loft numbers. My caddy was so impressed with these irons that he cancelled his order for a different set of irons so he can play the Hogan's before he makes his final decision. My caddy plays to about a 5 handicap. I would strongly recommend to anyone with a sub 20 handicap index to give these a serious try before purchasing a new set of irons. These cit through the turf and rough like a hot knife through butter.

Epon, Yururi, and PRGR are my irons of choice and what I compare everything to. I really think it was more shaft related, at least I hope so because besides being beautiful the Hogans have everything I look for in an iron. With the demo shaft, no they were lacking that nice dense/soft feel of favored JDM irons. I'm hoping one of the local guys will show up at the course with a set with different shafts.
I have had my new Ben Hogan irons for about six weeks and my experience is very much the same as yours. My handicap is an 18 index and I don't hit any worse shots with these irons than I did with my GI irons and have actually added at least half a club length (loft for loft) and moderate misses don't miss by as much. Not a lot to complain about, they are longer, more accurate and misses are not as bad as my previous clubs. Another great advantage is I don't hook these clubs, I can however move the ball right or left by slightly opening or closing the face and even if the ball doesn't move in flight, It will generally roll some in the correct direction. These are the first irons since my Hogan Edge Pro's I have not had buyers remorse about and that have had and immediate positive impact on my play. I'm excited about playing golf again.
Moving the ball left or right is not that difficult. I just set up with a slightly opened or closed the club face and aim for the middle of the green. Doesn't always work, sometimes the ball just goes straight. I am also reasonably good ball striker with mid irons and quite good with short irons but have serious driver yips (duck hooks).

Congrats on the new irons. Anything that get someone excited about the game again is worth celebrating.

You guys must have started out playing to a 4. I learned to work the ball early because I spent a lot of time outside of the fairway. Working the ball left or right doesn't mean he was sticking shots on the green. What I can't figure out is how a person can work a ball better with a blade style head versus a huge gi head? I thought blades just went straight. My world just got flipped upside down.

Z18 enjoy your clubs bud.
