Burner Superfast longevity on tour

Perhaps a decent question worth asking would be what would they do if they broke their driver? Do they have a back-up? Would TM make them another one or repair it?

As hard as those guys swing I cannot help but wonder what their back-up plan might be.

You can bet they have at least 2 backups. Sneds had backups up didn't like them for some reason. Last I saw, he had the red 815 Stone driver. Ryan Moore also was gaming the Superfast until early this year.

Just as an FYI the Superfast Long Hosel was, as I was told, made specifically for Retif Goosen as he wanted a flatter lie angle than they could reasonably get with the standard hosel, it then turned into a well received club by several other pros at the time.

Whilst TM don't keep vast stocks of 'old' models they do have what I call a 'magic' cabinet with a handful of each old model in various configurations. I saw this for myself. They keep them until they are no longer played by any of their players. So, I guess if the player is a TM player, then the product stays in the cabinet all the time its being played. If the player is someone else, like Snedeker, then I guess he has to keep his own backups or 'hope' that TM might have one if he needs it.

I'm sure this is common practice will all the manufacturers, I just happen to have first hand knowledge of TM.

I too like the older TM glued drivers better. Had an 07 Burner, sold it to one of my high school players when I bought a new R1. Never got along with the R1 and kicked myself for selling the Burner. Went through too many drivers before discovering the G25. Just grabbed an 07 Burner TP off the BST last week and took it out today. I swear it was like being reunited with a long, lost friend. The G25 may be in jeopardy. I don't know if it's mental or they just fit my swing better, but for me the older TM drivers are money.

SFTP 2.0 is Still the longest best feeling driver i've ever hit. But, misses were big. Id like to try an 8.5 head with a black tie maybe. Damnit $$$$$$$$

I went through 4 Super Fast TP 1.0 drivers. Broke the face on three of them and still have my backup. Probably didn't help that I broke the face on two of them on the driving range on sub 35 degree days.
