Alternative to Lead Tape?

I have some MP-R4 (JDM) Mizunos that are beautiful wedges with a great grind but they are incredibly light. With the S400 I have them on they are swing weighting to C4 to C7 (50, 54, 60). With the use of lead tape I have the weights up to D2-D4, however it seems like I am spray painting on top of a work of art when I put lead tape on top of these wedges.

I was wondering if anyone had any luck with tip weights or some other method to increase swing weight without lead tape.

What are your experiences with other alternative weighting options?

I've used tip weights and tungsten powder down the shaft with great success. C4 to C7? That is incredibly light! Especially for a wedge.

the wedges (IMO) are gorgeous but they feel like they were made for an incredibly tall 8 year old boy. I hear that is common with some JDM clubs.

I generally have a club fitter do my installs but would you trust a GG or GS (they are more conveniently located) to do that? Did you install your own? If so, was it difficult?

Unless I know the tech personally, I've never trusted a GG or GS. I've seen way too much stuff come out of there "good enough" instead of "done right". You could always have a talk w/the local tech and feel him out too. In the past, I always shipped my work out to a trusted club builder (PlayersEdge here on WRX) until I learned how to do the work myself. The work itself it actually pretty easy and fits my anal-retentive personality pretty good. One thing is for sure, since I started doing my own work, I know without a shred of doubt that my clubs are built to the EXACT specs that I want them at. That does inspire a little confidence.
