Found grandpa's club stash!

Nuggets

Recommended Posts

I was asked to help clear the loft out, found these old school clubs! Including a whale, some weird hickory sticks which are the same as we've got hanging up in the clubhouse and some lovely old mizuno woods. The Tony Penna ones are staying as they're his own custom made set but I've got no idea on what the others are worth....weird little titleist wood too, almost hybrid like!

My mobile internet is currently playing up....will try to add pictures later. They're up on photo bucket but the app is having none of it!

WOW! Really nice clubs. I have no idea of value, but a great stash of clubs.

Get out and play 'em.

PS: I have a RAM driver similar to yours. Bought it for $30, back around 7-8 years ago. Actually, I got it for free. There was some stimulus program a while back, where every working stiff got a $600 rebate from the US government. A local department store gave a 10 percent ($60) bonus gift card, if you cashed your check at their customer service desk.

That day, I bought the driver, a shirt, some socks, and a belt, a little over the $60 card. (The store is known for bargains.) Banked the actual $600 rebate. Anyhow, I still have the driver, it's a deep dark red finish. Back when I played it, I received a lot of compliments about the looks. Played it earlier this year, still a decent driver.

Enjoy your clubs.

You hit the jackpot with those Pennas, WOW !
My sentiments exactly on the Pennas but the other woods are not bad either especially the Mizunos

Hi, Nuggets--

I haven't sold on Ebay but I've shopped quite a bit!!

In my experience, I see falling prices this time of year, the season is ending and people don't want to buy clubs they won't use til next spring. For Christmas gifts, you can expect a price spike and that would be a better time to list IMHO. Also next spring--and Father's Day of course!!! :)

To find the value of your clubs now, use the Advanced Search function on Ebay, it's located to the right of the blue SEARCH button at the top of the webpage, but here's the link anyway:

http://www.ebay.com/...dvsearch/?rt=nc

Enter the title you'd put on your auction, tick the Sold Listings box and you will see prices like items sold for in the last few months. If there are very few sold listings, you might get as far back as 3 months but that's about tops in my experience.

HTH,

Wow what a collection of clubs. I don't know about anyone else but I'm not to proud to admit that I would certainly not hit the 3-iron very well. Unreal how the players back in those days hit the ball the way they did-I think of Bobby Jones and how great he was and the equipment he used.

I think it is kind of neat the soles on a few of the woods is similar to the sole on some of the modern Exotics clubs...

Wow, my dad had those mizuno woods.....they were great set of woods. The whale brings back some fond memories as I used one for a good while in the early 90s. But those old hickory are stunning, especially the hybrid looking 3 iron. Sort of shows that golfers back then we're thinking the same as many now but didn't have the technology to do it unless you were a good craftsman.....great pictures!

Would anyone be able to help put a value on everything bar the penna woods?
I've been tasked with selling them on instead of letting them go to the charity shop given the fact that there's some nice clubs in the bunch
Can I get you to give me some basic instructions to posting so many pictures? I can't figure out how to use the URL thing.
