Titleist 716 AP1 vs Callaway XR; help from the gurus please!

I have hit both and like both. I am a 23 handicap so sometimes one went further ,sometimes the other one . I am inconsistent at my level of play. Words of wisdom from the golf gurus out there?

I own the XR Pro and saw the AP1 today. Honestly, I was amazed at how much thinner the AP1s got. They were really beautiful and pleasing to look at. With that said, I did not get a chance to hit them.

As for the XR Pro, they're much easier to hit than the X Hot irons I owned prior to it and a lot nicer to look at. If you're concerned about forgiveness, the AP1 will be a little more forgiving but I think overall consensus shows that the XR Pro will give you more distance.

If price is a factor, you can get nice XR/XR Pro sets for cheap while you will most likely pay a premium for AP1s since they're brand new.

Since you can't differentiate between the two on long game performance, there might be a difference in short game performance. If possible take the two 7 irons to a chipping green and compare the performance playing chip and run shots. This will provide you with some feedback with regard to sole width, offset, turf interaction, sound and feel. The rusults should indicate how the wedge might play in the full set, something we never get the opportunity to try before buying.

Still no difference, then buy the least expensive.

i have been playing the XR's before i got my z545's. The XR's are very easy to hit quite forgiving club. The distance you get with them is the longest i have seen in an iron. My 7 iron is going about 175 which is far for me as i have a controlled swing and don't get to wild. So i know there is something to the cup face. They are thick to look at, which is the main reason i don't play them anymore, but i can't argue with how well they play. I shot my personal best with these clubs 2 days after i got them.

Thinking of going to the XR Pros as I use to play my best with X14 Pro series

I am an intermediate player and looking for a new iron that provide me maximum distance and forgiveness. I have done some research and quite interested in titleist ap1 716, Callaway apex cf16 and callaway XR OS. Can u tell me which golf club is the most suitable for me or another suggestion. Thx

Tried AP1 716, cf16, XR and PSi, I like the feel of the AP1s over the rest and was more forgiving too.
