Having been in first place on Saturday for awhile the previous weekend, I still managed to finish in the top 50 (quarter arcade). I'm going to guess $30?

Well... we play quite a number of lineup. Won't say how many but it is more than 20 and less than 100. Our return was 80% of our "investment". Had DJ won, it would have been 200% of our investment. Hard to make money when the 169th player in the world, who has a MC, MC, and T-63 in his previous 3 starts... wins

I follow a fella on Twitter who has won probably over $50k this year on PGA DK this year so far. He just won the $27 contest this past weekend.........with a guy missing the cut! Won $11k

Is he a capper or just some random guy? If he actually posts his picks and thoughts I'd love to follow.

 

I follow @wesreynolds1 for golf and he's done decent so far this year, he's missed out with a couple runners up which if they hit would hve been a very nice start of the year.

^^^ yes. Although his picks last week weren't exactly who he lead everyone to pursue it seemed. I think he uses Fantasy Labs to aid his data also. I was able to use fantasy labs last week to generate a few lineups before they got rid of the free access to their lineup generator but neither lineups did that great anyways. He has done great this year winning a few $$$ contest plus winning the Tiger jam trip worth $10k

^ I figured. He picked like 16 different golfers split between 4 different price tiers for the Master's this week. I like the picks, but I also had to try to pick a couple low owned guys just to try to be a little different this week.

any thoughts on DK strategy this week? my gambling brain says Rory will be very low owned and would be a good player to build teams around (you have to have the winner)...but something tells me that he might never actually win at Augusta, so i'm torn between rationale and hunch...from top-priced tier, I think Day and rickie will be heavily owned, while Jordan and rory will be much less owned; at other price points, I think willett at 8.0 will be heavily owned, and i'm guessing smylie might be the heaviest owned player overall, which is interesting since rookies don't tend to fare well at augusta..anyone know the winning lineup from last year's DK masters millymaker? for some reason I think charley Hoffman was on it

I managed to fit both in one lineup for the millionaire maker. If they play like last year's Masters, things may get interesting.

The important thing is going to be finding that low cost Vet or Rookie that makes a push......I lean more towards course familiarity and the Vets.

It's pretty hard to go for a decent vet at a low price, especially below $6500. The only vet in somewhat of a decent form in that range is Els, and he's up and down. All the other vets are way out of form, so I feel like I have just as good of a chance of first timer in good form than a vet at that range.

 

Would I pick that first timer to win? Absolutely not. But if he's in the top 25 (which does happen for even amatuers at times at Augusta) while the vets that are in good form in contention, I'll take it and game on.

A lot of my lineups have Hoffman. I'm also considering DL3.

Very true most of the Vets are out of form currently but this is where I tend to side with experience in majors and course history. DL3, Els, VJ and Cabrera are the only vets I'd look at.

If my lineups are a no show, I'm blaming the wind. I hate windy tournaments and refuse to play Kisner where he has no form right now, even if the wind suits him more.

Ehh, I have him in a couple of smaller GPP lineups, but not for the millionaire maker. Although I could easily see Dechambeau winning low amateur if that's still his status right now. If I was able to put another millionaire maker lineup, I'd play him.

I went with the logic that rookies don't do well. I eliminate all rookies, even though my stats logic told me berger will do well this week. I don't like berger because pitching/chipping is his weakness, and you can't succeed at Augusta without that. Knocked out Dubuisson because he MC'ed last year, and his momentum going in is not good. He has excellent GIR and Drive Distance though. Knocked out Willet too because he just had a baby, and I don't think he is prepared.
