Cabot Cliffs

Gonna do Cabot in early Oct next year - 3 days. Need some tips on the best plan for the rest of the time - what other courses do I need to include? Will have about 9 days in total. Thanks

Highland Links is a must play, it is about 2 hours away from Cabot, Bell Bay in Baddeck is a nice resort type of course and The Lakes near Sydney is a quality course with great scenery.

I'm headed up end of June. Talked the GF into playing both courses but we couldn't book on the property so we got a spot right near Inverness.

 

Anyone know how early out non resort guests can book tee times?

We'll be there mid-September. Staying at the quaint little Glenora Inn. Booked tee times at least a month ago. Guys, you won't be disappointed. Trust me. It really sinks in when you're on the 2nd tee at Cliffs. Mindblowing!

I heard from a pretty good source last year that you want to go in the fall. Late August-early October. The area gets the "Celtic colors" on the trees. Apparently it's even more beautiful than normal.

I've found that the weather in September and October is more temperate and enjoyable. The tourist season is winding down, the kids are back in school, and everything seems to be much more idle. Truly a golfer's paradise.

Just started the planning and Mary sent me details for the trip. Just need to plan a few more rounds and where I want to go after Cabot....or maybe before.

Prince Edward Island. Drive to the New Glasgow area and catch the ferrie at Caribou over to Wood Islands PEI. From there to Brudenell is less that 30 minutes. Dundarave is the track there. There also is Brudenell itself (good, not great,compared to Dundarave). A short drive of an hour or so, is Crowbush (a beauty). I don't know your schedule, so it's difficult to get too far ahead. Accommodations on PEI are very reasonable. Where are you flying in and out of? Halifax or Moncton?

Just returned from Cabot ( I'm from Montreal), played the Links twice and Cliffs three times and all I can say is WOW!! Spectacular weather, spectacular scenery and spectacular golf . Ocean is visible from practically every hole and the the oceanside holes are just amazing. Had calm conditions for the most part but when the wind is up can be very challenging especially the shorter par 3's. The Cliffs is the more spectacular course but I think the Links is harder. Had a caddie first two rounds but I don't think you really need one. All the staff are very courteous and helpful, restaurants are very good. Will be hard to come home and play the courses here after playing Cabot. The practice range is being built and doesn't look like it will be ready this year. Btw, stayed at a lovely B&B just outside of Inverness called The MacLeod Inn, a 5 minute drive to the course. Hosts Pam and Alistair are lovely people and golfers as well. In fact, they used to own some of the land the Cliffs was built on. Will post some pictures.

There are a few bunkers on 16 and 17, if you take two steps out the wrong way, you are going down to the beach 80ft down!
