Boulder, CO courses

I'll be flying out on the 16th of July and staying for a couple of weeks in Boulder. I'd like to try and play at least twice while I'm there so I'm looking for some good course recommendations. Whatcha guys got?

Definitely play Colorado National and would also play Riverdale Dunes. They're both within 15 or 20 from Boulder. In Boulder is slim pickens..

Def Riverdale Dunes.

The Omni is not bad but nothing spectacular.

Played Coal Creek some time ago in a work scramble - Don't remember much about it though.

 

If you don't mind the drive, you're less than an hour from Common Ground.

For the Colorado experience, id recommend arrowhead but it's probably an hour drive. Fossil trace is also nice.

Boulder proper is a little thin on courses. Depending on time, you can get to Colorado National, Riverdale (Dunes course), Heritage at Westmoor, or Legacy Ridge in less than 30 minutes. Omni is fun but a little pricy. If you can drive a bit more, you could look at Fossil Trace or Fox Hollow, both about 40-45 minutes south.

 

Any of the above would be fun.

I agree with everyone above except for Commonground. It's a decent course but there are much better options at half the driving time in the same price range. I'm a member at Colorado National; we got a new super and the greens are the healthiest around at the moment (far cry from last year).

 

I grew up in the area and the closest course worth playing that hasn't been mentioned is Indian Peaks in Lafayette. My personal top 4 for shortest drive and best courses are:

 

Heritage at Westmoor

Indian Peaks

Colorado National

Riverdale Dunes (Pete Dye and used to host a yearly Nike Tour event)

 

Give me a shout if you want someone to play with and/or a cheap rate at national!

Oh and just fyi Riverdale has 2 courses. Make sure you play the Dunes - the Knoll is just okay in my book.

There's Flatirons Golf Course right in Boulder. It's a relatively flat park like municipal course with lots of trees and is well maintained. The other "closest" public courses are Coal Creek in Louisville, Indian Peaks in Lafayette, Ute Creek and Twin Peaks in Longmont and Colorado National in Erie. Interlochen in Broomfield and Heritage Westmore in Westminster are not that much further away and are nice courses as well.

Thanks so much for all the replies. I'm looking into a round at Colorado National and maybe squeeze one more in somewhere. I'm looking forward to my first venture to the state.
