Clubs in your collection that you won't play?

Too rare, special or nice?

I have a buddy with a really rare set of proto irons that he has never hit in the two years he has owned them. Are there any clubs that you have acquired that you simply will not put into play because you covet them soooo much?

If so, what's the point of owning the club? Purely a collection piece?

Not too nice, or new, or anything. But I have a 68° "Last" wedge that I bought for $hits and giggles. Never used it for real, only to goof off and hit it backwards or over someones head. My friend actually used it to slice a ball in have, the face is so thin and sharp it went right through. I hit the bill of my hat with it once on a full swing and haven't touched it since!!!

i have a brand new still in the plastic set of 681's and 681 T's.

 

a 97 Tiger Masters in display case.

 

brand new never hit 04 FCB's

 

brand new Tour 580 XD, no reason to not hit this, just have not.

 

i also have a few brand new 970's that have not been hit.

 

i have a non-conf. Callaway and Titleist drivers that i wont hit.

 

nothing super rare, i just think they are semi hard to come by.

I have have had several sets... that I just HAD to have(new condition)... only for them to sit and admired and after weeks or even months of admiration(rac protos and lately the TM 300 protos).. they found the bst... knowing that I would not hit them, at least someone would.... so from now on..if I can't bare to hit them I don't buy them...maybe..

It's the same size but the screw plug is bigger and I was told that it was to make it sound more dull like the 983K that adam liked the sound of.

I've got 2 Cleveland Launcher Comp 420 prototype drivers. I got them off the Cleveland Tour van at one of my tour events this year, they told me that these drivers were VJ rejects & only about 10 exist. I have one shafted in the bag & i have the other head put away, I'm scared of cracking the crown but I'm hitting it too solid not to but I doubt I'd be hitting it if it was my only one. I had Fred Couples' driver that he used in the open that I got from my TM rep but just dumped it 2 days ago, had 3 lines of serial #'s on the hosel with a B over the 1st line.
