I had a lot of lipouts but I don't think I can blame the noodles.

Playing Twin Lakes today and tomorrow. I'll update with course conditions.

Looking to play Westwynd Friday, but their online tee time system is frozen and nobody is answering the phone so we'll see.

Still waiting for OU to open. I'm hearing maybe Tuesday.

What was Salem doing as far as precautions go when it comes to payments and things on the course? That’s where I usually play in the mornings, and I’m thinking about trying to get out early this week.

played the links at crystal yesterday. the conditions were decent, a little wet. the cups were all over the place though. some were normal, some were slightly out, some an inch out. one pin was a stick with a beer can on it lol Playing the fountains tuesday.

I'm going to try to get out to Crystal this week.

Once, a long time ago (1993 maybe), when it was Pontiac Municipal, we were putting on what is now the third green, someone unloaded a full magazine just a block off the course in that sub to the east. Maybe 12-14 shots fired, as someone was apparently pretty angry about something. Every golfer I could see on the course was lying flat on the grass. Crazy.

And yet I still go back.

Twin lakes woods nine was in good shape for this time of year. My only complaint was the greens were really slow and they had the cups raised above the hole, so your ball bounces off rather falling in. It definitely helped my score though. I played the last five holes at -4 with three chip-ins (two for birdie and one for par) and two birdie putts!

They had 1 person pay for our group of 6. Usual no rakes no flags etc. There is a piece of pvc around each flag. Was my first time out there in a few years. Don't remember the back being so easy.

Yeah, I went out there this morning, and called into the pro shop to pay (per instructions when I made my tee time yesterday), and the pvc was effective in making it easy to get the ball out without touching anything. I didn't putt out gimmes, so I only had to take about a half dozen balls out of the hole. The back is definitely the harder of the two nines, but only because of the 11-13 stretch, all of which are tough holes if you miss the fairway. Other than that, and the long par 3s on the front, it's not a difficult course all around.

I picked up the groupgolfer voucher for there, but I'll probably wait until I can use a cart in order to get my money's worth.

It is a great course. Everyone talks about Shepherds, but that is because it's pretty. In terms of design, Lyon Oaks might be Art Hills best work in Metro. But, I'm a ranger there, so I'm biased.

In a strange legal twist, you have to be 18 to drive a cart at Lyon Oaks, and I had probably 25 kids walk it last year. Most of them didn't like that too much, but those young pups can handle it. Not so certain I want to walk it or not. I think single rider carts might be an option soon.

I hope so. We have 8 guys who go out every weekend and we love it there. Also have a 12 guy trip up at Boyne end of May, praying for carts and some food places opening up there.

What's the issue with walking at Lyon Oaks? It's been a couple of years since I've been out there, but I don't remember it being particularly hilly. I think I may have even walked it once.

Nothing for most people. We have 2 guys that have between 1 and 4 pars a round and the rest of the time is spent practice swinging and looking for balls lol.

At Lyon Oaks it's not the hills, but rather the walk between some of the holes. It's not too difficult, but nothing like the average city course with the next tee box fairly close to the previous green.

PLayed the fountains on tuesday, and it was in great shape! Plus 25 bucks for 18 wasnt bad. Playing captains club and farmington this week.

Played Westwynd today. It was in great shape considering all the recent rain and was a challenge as always. Pretty happy to shoot 78 while enjoying the sunshine and some beverages!

I agree. I am really enjoying walking with the pushcart though. I do know that people with medical issues can still get a cart, I just don't know what the process is.

I’m not sure what it is either, but my dad said he saw a few out at captains club this weekend.

I played the orchards on Saturday. Tougher walk than I remember, but the course was in impeccable shape, and the greens were crazy fast!

regripped an old set of scratch irons and gamed them this weekend. I think im in love again.

Which model? This is my 6th season with SB-1s, and I won't change irons until they totally wear out.

Looks like boyne has tee times starting on the 14th. I’d imagine they are assuming carts will be allowed. Supposed to be going to shanty that weekend and they said they won’t open the legend unless carts are allowed.
