Never played any of the Rockford courses that I can remember and never heard of stormy creek. I think you will probably get what you pay for. Stormy creek is only 5500 yards, but for the same price as a bucket of balls at a range or playing 18 its intriguing. If you are considering those 2 you may look into the highlands or Saskatoon.

Saskatoon is my home tromping grounds. It's only in fair shape right now and some of the greens have suffered from the unseasonably warm weather we have had this year, but it is 36 holes with each 9 hole track being a bit unique which makes it an interesting course to play. As a bonus the food at the club house while simple is pretty decent. All in in all it's not real flashy but it is very homey and friendly and a decent place to play week in and week out. Leagues are still going on so plan on golfing in the morning.

played Pilgrims yesterday, great course!

started playing at 4 and we had plenty of time to finish 18.... leagues started at 4:30 so it was good pace all 18 holes with no people in front.

never played in between that many trees before, looks amazing, fairways are in perfect condition... got some pretty awesome divots... green were in okay condition.

played from the whites... some really cool looking holes.... 18th is a great hole, par 4 350 yards or so, first shot is like 200 yrs above wather then like 150 to the green, that was fun!

Played Thornapple Pointe last sunday.... Weather improved a lot from saturday's....

First 9 holes were a lilttle difficult, it was really crowded so not a really good pace going on... Different for the last 9, much improved pace. Started playing a 3:30 and finished by 7:30. $40 usd for 18, gps on cart was helpful. Dont remember seeing water stations in between holes, that could be an improvement.

Course was in great condition, pretty awesome holes by the river, temperature was great, little wind here and there to make it interesting.

I was playing from the whites, im definitely not a long hitter and felt like there were some long 4 holes i could never reach on 2 shots... Got a couple of balls on the rough, good luck trying to find those... It whas thick. You have to go through a series of small bridges to get to certain holes, that was cool. All in all pretty solid course.

Have you ever played Quail Ridge in Ada\Cascade? Pretty decent track and a bargain this time of year. It can be soggy if it has rained much and of course the greens around here are all aerated now.. but the fairways are lush and the setup is pretty decent to my eye.

If you do be wary of the several blind holes... you'll know them as you will not be able to see green or flag at all. Best recommendation for those is go post to post! (i.e. they have yardage posts on certain fairways and they often mark near the ideal lay up spot)
