Yururi/A-Grind/ or Masda

Those R1 s are gorgeous . I hadn't seen those raw before. They remind me of my blank Kyoei blades that I should have never sold.

They were remarkable. I would love to hit them with baby blades side by side but I struggle to imagine anything more satisfying.

Outstanding review Blake. They look better and better. I'd most likely go CMB to most likely pair a Di on a long stick (possible 3i). They made that series pretty convenient with the possibilities of blending the assortment of chassis available. Just can't seem to shake the Masda's off the list. Too many good reviews. Have not heard of one single negative review. Not one. On all of the internet.

So Kay.....when are you buying your set of A-Grinds? :to_become_senile:

Yow. Ok, that's the tall cotton. But we should meet once we get new clubs and play together! I have to go to India for 2 months, will have new heads waiting when I get back. One of the pains of this is I lose the capacity to reach wrx while there. India is blocked for some reason by wrx.

We will have to. I haven't golfed further north than Anaheim hills. No particular reason other than traffic.

India blocks Golfwrx??? Haha. That's odd. Golfwrx is the least malicious site I frequent. Until an MB vs CB thread starts.

So this is the same head as the vega raf cm as well? I did not like the 7-8 transition in that set at all......however, I much preferred that set to the vm02 I now sorta have and am probably selling.....

The a grind CB looks pretty badass....

I'd like to know this as well. How similar is the R1 to the CRZ to VM01? I understand its difficult to differentiate a standard MB, but there are some similarities. If they are indeed all Kyoei forged, that would explain it.

Just wonder what an unmarked, finished Kyoei blank costs at wholesale?

  • 3 years later...

Wait can anyone compare the size and feel of the A Grind R1 mb blades and Miura BB? Are they actually the same size? I want to try the the baby blade style but don't want to drop the extra dough.. Then again at a certain point, might as well go all the way.. Thoughts?

Side note. I know I'm trying to resurrect an old thread ??

Just get a vpn and connect to a server in a country that allows wrx.

Not personally, but the R1's are small. Theres a few sets on the auction. Pretty sure you can purchase a single iron. However, I remember there is an A-Grind dealer on JDMclubhouse forums that's a dealer that can get you a single iron and get you exact specs. I've been wondering myself, so if you go through with it, post up them photos.

The A Grind R1 irons are not as small as Miura's baby blade... as for the feel, I can't comment much because I am not such a feel player but my friends said that the R1 feels really soft. I have seen a few who made the switch from Miuras to the R1s and they are very happy with it. Hope this helps...

I have a set of Yururi’s but can’t compare to the others. They are a demanding set for sure. Very sharp and will dig a ditch if you’re not paying attention. As far as the raw goes it’s a non issue. Let it rust or just take some CLR and a dish scrubber and it’s gone in two minutes. Or you can buy black oxide and turn them black. No finish is the most versatile finish there is.

In regards to Agrind. I game one of their hybrids and love it so much I wouldn’t hesitate for a second buying their irons. Good looking too.
