Any good hole-in-one stories?

I have three but my first one was pretty special. I was only 12 years old, first time I ever played 9 holes in my life...the second hole of my life I hit a thin 5 iron from 145 yards and it bounces in. Ended up shooting 61. :friends:

Got my only one on an executive course. We had one hole to play and it was raining pretty good and starting to get dark. When we stepped up to the tee a bolt of lightning strikes in the distance. We decide since it the last whole to quickly hit and get out of there. Hit the ball straight at the pin, but it was too dark to see where it landed. Walked up to the green looking in the rough in front of the green, finally looked in the hole and there it was. Hopefully my next one I get to see go in!

I was playing a short muni course in Davis California. 9th hole is a tight par 4. 225 yards surrounded by bunkers. 5 iron. It was getting dark and we thought it went off the back. I was about to chalk it up to a loss when my girlfriend went to putt and found my ball in the hole.

My friend's dad hit a hole-in-one on one hole during a tourney.

 

The kick in the Word not allowed- the very next hole was also a par-3, and it was sponsored by a local auto dealership. He would've won a car if he did it on the very next hole.

 

He retired that club and he keeps it in the trunk of his car.

Mine was a beautifully struck 7 iron on a 169 yard par 3. The good news is that I was playing with my two best friends, nobody better to share the experience with. The bad news is that my eyesight was so poor I didn't see the ball fall in the cup. I thought I saw it change course near the hole as it rolled across the green, but I swear to this day that I saw it on the green behind the pin as we made our way to the green.

Years ago I was playing with the old guy, about 75 years old, named Henry in a mens league. Henry was not as good as he used to be but was a good guy to spend an afternoon with. Anyway we get to the 17th, playing about 135 yards, downhill over water. Henry is not playing well and I can tell he is worried about going in the water, because he has not got the ball in the air well all day. Anyway Henry hits a low pull/top/snap/hook 5 iron left of the pond and it is heading for the cart path. As I start to hear a few choice 4 letter words leave Henry's mouth I watch in pure fascination as the ball bounds off of a rock on the path and heads toward the green. The ball hits the top of the flag, rolls straight down the flag stick straight for the hole, hits the bottom of the cup, bounces straight in the air 4 feet, goes back in the hole bounces two feet in the air, and then finally settles in the hole. This was around 1990 I believe, and I can remember it like it was yesterday, the ball flew like a pin ball, but to me I see it in my mind in slow motion.

 

Anyway Henry about dropped a load in his drawers, but qucikly gained his composer and showed the wisdom of an elder statesman on a social security. He looked at us and said "I am going in, I aint buying all those SOB's drinks in the clubhouse" He jumped in the cart went straight to the parking lot, and drove home. The guys in our group told the pro what happened and we got Henry's name in the local paper where they list all the local holes in one.
