Pulling all putts.....HELP!

Recently, I have been pulling almost every putt. Trying to get more practice in to stop it but it's still here. I have great distance control, but can't stop pulling. PLEASE HELP!

being a newb on here, and an amatuer at golf, id feel awkward offering advice. the only thing i can image you doing is having the face closed or perhaps your swing path isnt straight back, straight through... it could also be your stance or how your head/eyes are positioned. i read an article, i think it was "how i play golf" by mr. woods, that mentioned if your head isnt positioned directly over the ball and if your eyes arent lined up parallell to your line, that it would be an issue.

Could be several things, as you know. Sometimes the stroke is correct, but the alignment is off. Or vice versa.

 

1. Alignment issues can be visually subtle, but the consequences are overt as the ball sails wide of the hole. One cool affordable tool for verifying alignment is the SeeMore triangulator ($6). You can find it at www.SeeMore.com. This device helps you calibrate your alignment and diagnose directional issues. The SeeMore Putter, Rife 2-Bar and new Cleveland VP putters are a few sticks that have alignment tools built into them, should your search for an alignment cure include a new putter.

 

2. Of course, it could be a stroke issue. If you're using an arc-type stroke (in contrast to straight back and through), you might want to verify that the ball is positioned beneath your eyes. If the ball is too far forward, you could be striking it as the clubface moves inside, resulting in a pull. (The Putting Arc is a practice device might help as well. According to the company: "The modern putting stroke of the successful touring pro is the inside-to-inside or arc-type stroke. This is the stroke used by 95 percent of successful touring pros, and taught by the top putting instructors in the country. However, 95 percent of amateurs still try to putt straight back and straight through.")

 

To verify where your eyes are at, place the ball on the floor in the middle of a CD, then address the ball with your putter using your normal setup. What do you see? Hopefully, you see your eyes in the reflection around the ball. This will help verify if your eyes are both in line with your target and over the ball.

Hard to analyze without seeing. Here's a checklist of possibilities.

 

1. Toe is up in air at address...Upright lie angle will hit putts left...

2. Decelerating through the ball...

3. Too much 'wrist' motion in stroke...

Ball could be too far up in your stance.

cheapest and easy to do, try cross handed grip if it works problem solved if "other" problems arise go back to your original grip and the change may have helped your set up etc..

First check your shoulder alignment. They could be too open. Also try gripping it slighty tighter in your right hand.

When I begin pulling putts it's usually due to alignment issues. Make sure your shoulders and feet are square to the target. I find that when I aim with feet and shoulders too far open I pull putts.
