Where do you keep you rangefinder?

Recommended Posts

I was wondering where you all keep your rangefinder? I've never been too keen on hanging it on the outside of the bag and have resorted to just throwing into the ball pocket. Anybody who has done this do you still use the original case or just throw it in there as it it and if so has the rangefinder lenses been damaged at all?

Thanks

Staff bag on the back of the cart the majority of the time for me. When I play the range finder fits right in 1 of my 4 cup holders. When I'm done I put it back in its original case in the ball pocket of my bag. Whenever I'm done playing regardless I put my range finder back in it's case. No reason really, just habit.

When walking, I keep it in the larger of the 2 spine pockets, no case. Riding, no case in drink holder or loose in the tray. Use the case when not playing.

If you do a lot of riding there is a product that looks handy, note I don't own one or work for the company I've just seen it in quite a few of Rick Sheils videos.

Do you have balls and other stuff in the spine pocket as well as the rangefinder?

Just gloves, 2 balls and spare pocket warmers. Tees, ball marker and divot tool go in small spine pocket. Snacks and a couple more balls go in the lower side pocket. Keys, wallet, phone and lip balm in the outside upper pocket. Clean out the bag occasionally as useless junk creeps back in.

That's what I was referring to above. I love that thing. The magnets are strong and I stick it to the windshield frame so it's always handy. When I walk I stick it to an iron head. Great product

When walking, in the mesh holder on clicgear cart. In drink holder when riding. One good tip I saw on here for those worried about losing it. I put my car key in the case - can't forget laser in cart if I have to get my keys out. Laser comes out of case, keys go in. Keys come out, laser goes in. I also have my name and cell number from a label maker on it in case I lose it and someone honest finds it.

What if a villan finds your keys with your name? ?

The exterior clip on towel ring looks handy, but a little more unsecured. I would worry it could fall off somehow.

On my other bag, there is a shallow perfectly-sized pocket to hold the rangefinder without its case. So I leave it unzipped while I'm playing and can just reach in and grab it easily.

At least once I remember sticking the bag in my trunk and finding the rangefinder has been ejected from the zipper I left open. But it wasn't too bad since it could only fall about 6" onto the carpet in my trunk.

I have a Taylormade Flextech Lite bag and it has a lined valuables zippered pocket near the top of the bag where I put my laser rangefinder. That pocket works well for the laser rangefinder, I have to move my valuables to another pocket. It would be great if the bag companies would make a dedicated range finder pocket near the top. I also use the case it came with because Leupold has a great magnetic case that is quick to take it out and put it back in. A zipped pocket would be too much of hassle especially when you use a rangefinder dozens of times a round.

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
