Austin Area Lessons?

Afternoon all,

 

My swing has recently gone to shambles and I am hoping to take some lessons in the Austin area, has anyone had any good experiences with anyone in particular? I'm typically a low to mid 90's player who struggles off the tee. I am also a lefty if that matters.

 

Also, I stumbled upon this membership for the local muni courses, has anyone tried these? http://www.austintexas.gov/sites/default/files/files/2017_Membership_Flyer_pdf.pdf

I used to travel to Austin from time to time and took a few lessons from Robin Bird at the Ledbetter Academy. He was pretty good.

Call and consider Philip Miranda....Great Hills CC. He does outside lessons and is a really good guy and someone who I think might help your swing. mk

Don't know the budget you are working on but check out the UT Golf Club, it has reasonable rates (especially for club fitting) and the equipment setup is fantastic. Even includes weight distribution evaluation as well as all launch characteristics. I used Greg for iron fitting and it could not have been any better. Hitting out of the "garage" type setup using ProV balls is the way to get real data.

If you don't mind driving up to Georgetown, Bill Easterly at Golf Ranch is really good. Smart coach and knows his stuff. Plus he has an amazing rate...$45 for 45 mins, and most your lessons last an hour anyway.

It would help if you gave an area you're looking at. When someone says Austin, it could mean Buda to Georgetown, to Bastrop to Liberty Hill. Former PGA Pro J.L. Lewis gives lessons at both Avery Ranch and Teravista. I haven't personally taken any from him, but I've heard good things. They also have a membership similar to the link you posted. For $50, you have unlimited access to the range and practice area and that includes one round of golf per month. I just cancelled mine because I'm moving North of Sun City and thinking about a Berry Creek membership now instead.

Love Berry Creek, and the pro out there is great at giving lessons. Cant remember his name, but a lot of HS athletes in Georgetown go over to him.

I used to work with Bill. He's a legend. He's a bit quirky but he is unbelievably good.

I've worked with Kirk at Star Ranch. One lesson with him helped my putting immensely. I'll be going back soon to work out some quirks with my driver.
