I play the multicompound and love them, but the prices are ridiculous. Maybe some more companies producing copies will bring the prices into the normal range.

I saw these in person yesterday... they are exactly the same grip (different color). The Avon is available in no cord, half cord, and full cord.

Also, I was thinking that Avon was a partner to Eaton, Parent Co. of Golf Pride but I might be wrong there.

What I do know is I prefer the blue over the red (not to mention a much lower $$$) and will be putting these in play with my next re-grip.

I love the the feel of the original Multicompound, just wish they could release them in all black.. These look a bit more pleasing to the eye, but I still cant get used to the two-tone look..

That's too bad for Gofl Pride, oh wait, I do recall a little incident when they released the "Whisper" Kinda stole winn's design and had some legal issues. Come on, there are always gonna be knockoffs. I bet they only make these is the smallest size known to man, and after 18 holes your hands are gonna look like you jacked off a smurf! :D

Here is a response from GolfPride. I asked them about offering the grips in larger sizes and different colors.

I'm pleased to tell you that Golf Pride is introducing in January a midsize Multicompound grip. Our part number is
MSC 60R12-X4. Check with Golfsmith and Golfworks in late January....they should have them by that time.

Regarding grip colors, we understand that some golfers prefer grips with subtle cosmetics (e.g., black, small logo, modest surface pattern, limited paint fill). Golf Pride has long taken the lead in supplying grips of this description, with models such as the Tour Wrap, Tour Velvet, Sofftie, V-50, and Whisper. However in recent years many customers have complained that "all grips look the same". At the same time there as been a significant rise in demand for, and sales of, colorful and differentiated grips.
We elected to go with bright colors in new models partly in response to market feedback, and partly to draw attention to new materials and technology. Had we introduced the new grips in plain black, chances are they would not have garnered much attention. In fact, you might not even be aware of them. To some extent this is similar to what's happened with graphite shafts, where manufacturers used colors to build consumer awareness and image (e.g., True Temper EI70 - dark green, UST Proforce - yellow/purple, Apache - bright orange, Graffalloy Blue - bright blue, and Aldila NV - light green). Had these shafts been introduced in traditional black or dark gold, we might noticed any of them.

Having said that, we understand that bright colors are not everyone's cup-of-tea, and that each individual has colors he or she likes and dislikes. As we move forward we will consider offering popular new grips in alternative, more conservative cosmetics. In the meantime, we hope you can look past the color issue, and enjoy new models for the improved performance and playability they provide.
